Job summary

AMETEK, Inc. is seeking a Quality Specialist to oversee calibration programs for measurement and testing equipment in Cincinnati.

You will manage GageTrak and calibration records, ensuring compliance with ISO and AS9100 standards, and collaborating across engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve measurement issues. The role requires at least 2 years in calibration, strong knowledge of measurement principles, and experience with CMM software and GageTrak.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain the calibration program for all measuring equipment and process control equipment; Gage Recall Management / System Maintenance / GageTrak Database.
• Ensure compliance with ISO and AS9100 standards and industry regulations.
• Conduct regular audits and reviews of calibration processes to identify areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to support product development and resolve measurement-related issues.
• Analyze calibration data and adjust recall frequency as appropriate.
• Maintain and update calibration documentation, including procedures, records, and schedules.
• Coordinate with external calibration service providers and request quotes / purchase orders.
• Stay current with calibration technology and CMM software; recommend updates.
• Inspect First Articles and Production Parts (FAIRs, capability studies).
• Inspect Tools, Fixtures, and gauges as assigned.
• Verify calibration of temperature controllers, rectifiers, pressure gauges, etc.
• Report out of tolerance conditions for gages, products, and tooling.

Job Description:

Position Overview

Quality specialist will oversee the calibration processes for our measurement and testing equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. This role requires a background in Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) operations and management. The ideal candidate will have technical expertise, organization, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach to quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the calibration program for all measuring equipment and process control equipment; Gage Recall Management / System Maintenance / GageTrak Database.
• Ensure compliance with ISO and AS9100 standards and industry regulations related to calibration and quality management.
• Conduct regular audits and reviews of calibration processes to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to established procedures.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to support product development and resolve measurement-related issues.
• Analyze calibration data and adjust recall frequency as appropriate.
• Maintain and update calibration documentation, including procedures, records, and schedules.
• Coordinate with external calibration service providers as needed to ensure timely and accurate services. Request quotes and request Purchase Orders for same.
• Stay current with advancements in calibration technology and CMM software used, recommending updates as necessary.
• Inspection of First Articles and Production Parts as assigned. (e.g.: FAIRs, capability studies, etc.)
• Inspection of Tools, Fixtures, and gages as assigned.
• Verify calibration of temperature controllers, rectifiers, pressure gages, etc..
• Report out of tolerance conditions for gages, products and tooling.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2years of experience in calibration.
• Strong knowledge of measurement principles, calibration standards, and quality control processes.
• Experience with most hand gages and equipment including thread gages.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Overall mechanical aptitude

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification in Calibration Management or Quality Assurance.
• Experience with GageTrak software.
• MicroVu OMM (Optical Measurement Machine) Experience.
• Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis tools.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
• Electrical knowledge / experience.
• Knowledge of Blue Print.
• Experience with OMM / CMM software and programming or similar equipment.

Compensation
