Job summary

PHA Georgia, LLC is seeking a Quality Specialist to ensure products meet quality standards and customer specifications. The role supports IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 initiatives, analyzes data, and drives corrective actions across manufacturing processes.

You will participate in continuous improvement activities, perform tear-down analyses on returns, and coordinate gage design and quality documentation. Strong GD&T knowledge and travel to customers are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field.
  • Experience with IATF 16949, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 is desirable.
  • Willingness to travel to customer locations.
  • Knowledge of blueprints and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).

Responsibilities

  • Ensure customer satisfaction and improve product/process quality using metrics like PPM and quality ratings.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and corrective actions.
  • Perform customer visits and address quality issues on-site.
  • Lead 8-D problem solving to identify root causes and actions.
  • Oversee internal and external sort or rework activities.
  • Develop and maintain documentation (control plans, PFMEA, process flow) per IATF 16949.

Job Description

JOB TITLE: Quality Specialist

EMPLOYER: PHA Georgia, LLC

DEPARTMENT: Quality

REPORTS TO: Quality Manager

SUMMARY: Quality Assurance Specialist (Quality Specialist), you will pay a vital role in ensuring that PHA products meet quality standards, unique customer specifications and manufacturing processes meet stated requirements. You will be responsible for supporting initiatives in IATF 16949, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and other system standards. Analyzing data, identifying trends and initiating corrective action.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Ensures customer satisfaction and the increase of product/process quality through measures such as: PPM, cost of quality, number of concerns/Q.R.’s and quality ratings.
  • Aims to achieve these objectives in the most cost-effective manner.
  • Performs customer courtesy visits.
  • Travels to customer locations to address quality issues.
  • Uses the 8-D program solving process to identify root cause and develop corrective actions.
  • Conducts tear-down analysis and disposition of all customer returns.
  • Oversees implementation of continuous improvement activities.
  • Collaborates within a team regarding design issues.
  • Obtains quotes for prototype builds, gages, etc.
  • Designs various small gages which affect quality.
  • Coordinates internal and external sort or rework activities.
  • Develops and maintains various documentation (Control Plans, P.P.A.P., P.F.M.E.A., Process Flow, etc.) pursuant to IATF 16949 guidelines.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or other related field.
  • Computer skills required:
    • Ability to utilize computer applications such as Windows and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Other skills required:
    • Tier One or Tier Two automotive supplier experience preferred. o Knowledge of blue prints and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. o Must be able and willing to travel frequently to customer locations.
