Hyundai Transys Georgia Powertrain is seeking a Quality Manager in West Point, GA to assure quality production through monitoring, containment and corrective actions. You will lead with data-driven decisions to exceed customer expectations and drive KPI performance.

Responsibilities include developing the quality management system, coordinating with manufacturing, and ensuring compliance with IATF16949, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 standards while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Qualifications

  • 7 - 10 years of related experience.
  • 3 - 5 years of supervision (preferred).
  • Must be able to read and understand HTGP policies and standards.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Lead quality program to ensure products meet customer expectations.
  • Monitor KPIs and drive corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing to resolve quality issues.

Quality Manager

Full-time Regular Management West Point, GA, US

Position Summary

Assure quality production through product and process monitoring and correction. Deploying appropriate containment quickly and effectively to prevent customer concerns. Monitor trends and require corrective measures. Drive plant quality efforts through strong leadership, data driven decisions, and consistent application.

Essential Functions
Corporate
  • Adheres to the Hyundai Transys Georgia Powertrain (HTGP) policies and procedures
  • Learns, demonstrates and upholds HTGP Core Values
  • Complies with all HTGP Certification standards; Management System IATF16949, ISO 45001 & ISO 14001
  • Treats all HTGP team members with respect and professional courtesy.
  • Always strives to maintain a positive work environment
  • Plans, get approval for and manages the department’s annual budget
  • Efficiently manages the approved budget for optimal output / gain
  • Performs additional assignments / duties as required by management
  • Responsible for meeting and / or exceeding monthly KPI targets.
EHS
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures
  • Complies with all safety policies and 5S clean philosophy to maintain a safe, clean working environment
  • Consistently meets company safety goals
Technical
  • Assures periodic cleanliness inspection and assigns actions to address nonconformance to standard
  • Monitors results of product and process checks by QC staff for trends to assign appropriate action as needed
  • Ensures effective communication to all appropriate production groups for internal findings related to quality
  • Develops and maintains cost of quality system to monitor and track cost pertaining to internal quality issues.
  • Ensures sample builds are identified and tracked through the production process.
  • Supports tracking of break points for corrective actions and EO changes.
  • Supports all IATF16949 activities and customer VDA audits.
Leadership
  • Works in conjunction with Management Team to develop a quality management system that will ensure products exceed customer expectations.
  • Plans, develops, implements and audits processes to meet external customer requirement and objectives are maintained.
  • Creates, implements, and maintains quality process control system that advocates quality assurance in lieu of inspection.
  • Works closely with manufacturing to resolve problems of product design, specifications, materials, tooling and processes affecting quality.
  • Coordinates activities to resolve customer complaints, salvage and field return transmission issues in accordance to the CAR process.
  • Department Security Officer – You are required to deliver security tasks to your team and manage your department’s security documents and assets.
Education
  • High School/GED
  • 4 Year Degree or comparable background of work related experience*
Reporting
  • Reports to: Senior Quality Manager, COO (or designee)
  • Direct Reports: 2 - 3

  • Candidates must be able to work some overtime hours and occasional weekend days.
  • Candidates must be capable of working on their feet for long periods, demonstrating hand dexterity and tolerating repetitious work patterns.
Other Information
  • Position may require domestic or international travel.
  • Flexibility in working hours to include nights, weekends and holidays as required.
  • OT required as needed.
  • Must be available to rotate to other shifts as needed.
  • Tier-1 Automotive (transmission) experience preferred.
  • Cross Cultural Experience is preferred
