Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Quality Control Manager / Safety Officer in Virginia Beach to oversee governmentconstruction projects from initiation to completion. The role emphasizes safety, quality, budgeting, scheduling, and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in commercial construction project management, OSHA knowledge, and experience with NAVFAC/Army Corps. Excellent communication and leadership are essential for cross‑functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial construction project management, government sector preferred.
• Proven experience with NAVFAC and/or Army Corps.
• Thorough knowledge of construction safety regulations and OSHA 10/30.
• Experience conducting safety audits, job hazard analyses, incidents.
• Strong risk management and QA/QC knowledge.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in project management software and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all stages of project life cycle including quality control, budgeting, scheduling, procurement.
• Direct and supervise project administration, superintendents, and engineers.
• Collaborate with NAVFAC/Army Corps to meet government standards.
• Develop and implement project risk management plans.
• Conduct regular safety audits, JHAs, and investigations to ensure OSHA compliance.
• Develop and enforce QA/QC plans for all construction activities.
• Maintain communication with contractors, managers, and government reps.
• Ensure compliance with laws and environmental health/safety regulations.
