Job summary

Richardson Electronics, Ltd. in the United States (LaFox, Illinois) seeks a Quality Release Engineer to oversee new product and process releases, ensuring quality controls are established before production and maintained during changes.

This role leads Release Kaizen events, performs independent quality reviews of releases, reviews PFMEAs, Control Plans, and related documentation, verifies production readiness, and monitors post‑release quality to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline is required.
5+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing, process or quality engineering.
Strong knowledge of APQP principles, PFMEA, Control Plans, process capability, measurement systems, risk assessment, and product/process qualification.

Responsibilities

Lead Release Kaizen events and coordinate cross-functional teams for production readiness.
Provide independent quality review and approval of new product and process releases.
Review PFMEAs, Control Plans, inspection sheets, and related quality documentation for adequacy and effectiveness.
Review drawings, specifications, BOMs, routings, work instructions, and other production documentation for quality impact.
Verify supply chain readiness and closure of Kaizen findings before release.
Monitor post-release production performance and drive improvements in quality controls.
