Job summary

Nova Instruments in Nashua, NH is seeking a Quality Program Manager to implement and maintain the Quality Management System across select subsidiaries. You will lead the quality function, oversee inspections and testing, and ensure products, services, and processes meet industry, legal, and company standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Management, Logistics Management, Quality Management, or equivalent.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in developing and maintaining a QMS.
  • Ability to investigate root causes of non-conformances.
  • Excellent communication in reports and meetings.
  • Knowledge of instrumentation manufacturing and assembly preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet deadlines while upholding quality standards.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

Job description

The Quality Program Manager is responsible for implementing and maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS) for select subsidiaries of Nova Instruments, including DegreeC, NDT Systems and Brookhaven Instruments. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Quality Program Manager provides day-to-day leadership of the quality function and is responsible for all aspects of quality associated with the Company’s daily business activities, including implementation of required inspections and testing, as well as evaluating and improving methods to ensure that the Company’s products, services, and processes adhere to industry, legal, and company standards. The role is also responsible for maintaining the ISO-9001 certifications and serves as the main point of contact with the certifying body and inspectors.

This position reports directly to the Plant Manager and partners closely with all departments of the organization, including Finance, Sales, Engineering, and Operations to align quality priorities with plant and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Align quality objectives and provide day-to-day leadership, guidance, and coordination of quality activities across the plant.
  • Implement methods to inspect, test, and evaluate products, services, and production equipment to ensure final products meet industry and Company standards, and document the results.
  • Lead root cause analyses and corrective action responses to customer concerns regarding product quality.
  • Develop and maintain quality key performance indicators (KPIs) and facilitate the timely reporting of results to the Plant Manager and corporate leadership, as needed.
  • Communicate with and train employees regarding the Company QMS, including quality metrics compliance, reporting procedures, and responses to nonconforming test results.
  • Collaborate on continuous improvement projects, including documented work and business procedures; troubleshoot and correct sub-standard processes via the Company’s Corrective Action Process.
  • Perform and/or support internal and external quality audits associated with maintaining the Company’s quality certifications, and serve as the primary contact for the ISO-9001 certifying body and inspectors.
  • Perform any other duties related to the role as may be requested or required to maintain and improve processes and operations.
  • Comply with company work rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and enforce safe work practices.

Experience, Skills, and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Management, Logistics Management, Quality Management, or equivalent industry experience required.
  • Minimum of three to five years’ experience in developing and maintaining a QMS.
  • Ability to investigate root causes of non-conformances and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
  • Effective communication skills to accurately convey information in reports, meetings, and status updates to management.
  • Knowledge of instrumentation manufacturing and assembly preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to operate under deadlines while still meeting high quality standards.
  • Analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills to review systems, find flaws, and provide solutions.
  • Familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) required.
