Job summary

FMS Corporation is seeking a quality-focused engineer to develop and support production processes, driving lean initiatives and quality systems across powder metal operations.

The role involves collaborating on APQP/PPAP, leading corrective actions, and coordinating with customers to implement process changes for quality improvements. Strong inspection and measurement skills are essential, with 1–3 years in powder metal or related fields.

Qualifications

• Must be able to accurately measure parts and read blueprints.
• Knowledge of SPC and SPC systems.
• Minimum 1–3 years inspection experience or equivalent.
• Minimum 1–3 years Powder Metal processing experience or related materials fields.

• Be part of and contribute to lean continual improvement team.
• Assist with New Product Development and APQP / PPAP process and documentation.
• Correct processing issues on existing parts.
• Provide input for customers where specific changes in processes are required for powder metal.
• Participate in documentation close-outs for new jobs.
• Close loop on corrective actions and verify the action corrected the problem.
• Review current jobs to make them more profitable and trouble free.
• Act as a liaison between FMS and customers to promote quality initiatives.
• Lead ISO Quality audits and maintain documentation.

• Degree in metallurgy or equivalent experience preferred.

Able to lead and participate with a cross-functional team.
