Job summary

Lear Corporation in Columbia City, IN seeks a Quality Specialist to join our growing Team. The right candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills with a minimum of 2 years of education (Associate's Degree); 4 years preferred.

Candidate must be very flexible with their work schedule and available to work overtime as needed. This position will require work on 2nd and/or 3rd shift with rotations between our main plant and GM at their Fort Wayne plant.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience: Minimum of 2 years of education (4 years preferred)
• General knowledge of computer communication systems (Outlook, Excel, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate work activities of hourly team members.
• Communicate shop floor problems/defects to personnel responsible for corrective action.
• Establish and adjust resources to meet production schedules.
• Analyze and resolve problems or assist in finding solutions to problems.
• Inspect products to ensure adherence to conformance specifications.
• Ensure general machine maintenance and product quality.
• Initiate action to reduce and prevent product nonconformance occurrences.
• Recommend measures to improve efficiency in production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
• Initiate plans and encourage employees to meet work goals.
• Participate in inspection and testing for new launches.
• Serve as customer liaison between Lear Columbia City and GM at their Fort Wayne plant.
• Engage in public relations work for Lear seats at GM.
• Ensure cleanliness of the quality team's workplace.
• Partner with Team Lead to ensure proper labor planning and rotation schedule.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement activities.
• Champion the High-Performance Work Team model.
