Job summary

Specialty Granules LLC in California (Ione) is seeking a quality control-focused professional to perform routine checks across the production cycle and ensure final product specifications are met. You will operate laboratory testing equipment, compile QC reports, and supervise colleagues in the absence of a supervisor during emergencies.

Qualifications include a high school diploma and experience or background in engineering or science.

• Engineering or science background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine daily quality control checks at all points in the production cycle to ensure final product specifications are met.
• Reports variations and items out of specification to the production supervisor.
• Operates testing equipment and computer programs to accomplish necessary checks and calculations.
• Prepares and maintains quality control and process reports as required.
• Directs personnel to ensure compliance with company rules, policies and procedures.
• Assumes temporary responsibility for the plant in the absence of a supervisor in the event of an emergency.
• Responsible for maintaining lab equipment and good housekeeping within the color plant lab.
• May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
