Position Summary:
The Quality Planning Engineer I supports the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) and quality planning activities within a high-volume battery manufacturing environment. This position supports compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, internal quality standards, and customer requirements through internal audits, KPI monitoring, training coordination, project tracking, and cross-functional collaboration. The Engineer I also supports communication and alignment with global Headquarters (HQ) and internal teams to ensure quality initiatives, requirements, and improvement activities are implemented effectively.
- Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, internal standards, and applicable customer requirements.
- Plan, coordinate, and conduct internal quality audits across applicable departments and processes.
- Document audit findings and support corrective action follow-up to ensure identified issues are addressed and closed in a timely manner.
- Monitor QMS compliance and identify opportunities to improve processes, documentation, and quality controls.
- Coordinate and facilitate quality meetings, including preparation of reports, supporting data, action items, and follow-up activities.
- Monitor Quality department KPIs, analyze performance trends, and prepare reports for management review.
- Track Quality department projects, initiatives, and investment budgets; identify delays, risks, and required follow-up.
- Support Quality Management System documentation, including procedures, work instructions, records, and other controlled documents.
- Coordinate QMS and quality-related training for Quality team members and other departments as required.
- Communicate with Headquarters (HQ) and global teams to coordinate quality requirements, requests, projects, and implementation activities.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, and other departments to support quality initiatives and resolution of QMS-related issues.
- Analyze quality and operational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Support preparation for external, customer, certification, and regulatory audits as applicable.
- Track assigned corrective and preventive actions and support timely completion.
- Support continuous improvement activities related to quality systems, processes, and departmental performance.
- Maintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards:

- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- 0–3 years of relevant experience in quality, engineering, manufacturing, or a related technical environment.
- Basic knowledge of quality systems, manufacturing processes, or continuous improvement principles.
- Ability to analyze data and communicate findings clearly.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a manufacturing or automotive environment.
- Familiarity with IATF 16949 and/or ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
- Experience supporting internal audits, corrective actions, or QMS documentation.
- Familiarity with quality tools and methodologies such as root cause analysis, 5 Why, Fishbone, SPC, FMEA, or similar methods.
- Experience using Minitab or other statistical/data-analysis software.
- Experience working with global or cross-functional teams.
- Korean language proficiency is a plus.
- Analytical and critical-thinking skills.
- Problem-solving and continuous-improvement mindset.
- Strong organization, prioritization, and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and follow through on action items.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.

- Ability to work effectively in a diverse, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to communicate effectively with local and global stakeholders.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Work is performed in both office and manufacturing environments.
- Regular interaction with manufacturing operations and cross-functional teams.
- May require extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking throughout the facility.
- Must be able to use required personal protective equipment when entering designated manufacturing areas.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule as needed to support manufacturing operations and meetings with global teams in different time zones.
