Job summary

Bwise-Manufacturin is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to perform final in-depth inspections of completed trailers and identify defects before shipping. You will verify welds, fasteners, and surface finishes, and ensure compliance with Sales Order specifications.

Responsibilities include testing hydraulics and lights, applying decals, and maintaining safety protocols while working in a manufacturing setting. The job requires a High School diploma and basic computer/ERP proficiency.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must read, write, count and communicate by various channels.
  • Experience in manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and ERP software (Global Shop Solutions).

Responsibilities

  • Perform final in-depth inspections of completed trailers.
  • Identify defects and coordinate corrective actions prior to shipping.
  • Visually inspect powder coat finish for defects and blemishes.
  • Check welds, frames, hangers and pivots for integrity and alignment.
  • Verify proper installation of fasteners and torque specs as needed.
  • Ensure trailer matches Sales Order paperwork and specifications.
  • Test basic trailer functions (hydraulics, lighting, etc.).
  • Apply warning labels, reflective tape and decals accurately.
  • Maintain safety standards and keep work area clean.

JOB SUMMARY

The Quality Inspector is responsible for completing the final in-depth inspection of completed trailers and for locating defects overlooked in the manufacturing process and correcting these prior to shipping the product.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Actively observe and promote BWise safety standards
  • Visually review quality of powder coat finish on trailers by observing light spots, foreign material on painted surface, or other defects/blemishes.
  • If a defect/blemish is located, properly clean surface and touch-up using the matching aerosol paint can.
  • Check welds on the trailer frames, hangers and pivots
  • Verify fasteners have been installed and tightened using a torque wrench. (when necessary).
  • Confirm that trailer is built to the specifications of Sales Order #, by matching Sales Order paperwork to appearance trailer.
  • Test basic functions of trailer such as hydraulics, lighting, etc.
  • Install warning labels, reflective tape, and logos decals in designated areas. (these must be straight)
  • Other duties, as assigned by supervisor.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Must be capable of standing for entire shift and sit for extended periods of time.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs; ability to demonstrate full range of motion for reaching, bending, kneeling and stooping.
  • Will be exposed to extreme heat and cold depending on weather.
  • Subject to dirt, dust, oil, welding fumes, traffic hazards, and high noise levels in the workplace.
PPE REQUIREMENTS
  • Steel-toed shoes or composite shoes
  • Safety glasses
  • Earplugs
  • Gloves when handling any material
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be able to read, write, count, communicate by various channels.
  • Manufacturing related experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Working knowledge of ERP software (Global Shop Solutions, preferred)
