Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related
• 5+ years of QA/QC experience in industrial manufacturing, chemicals, specialty materials, or related processing
• 2+ years of laboratory supervisory/leadership experience
• ISO 9001 Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor certification required
• Experience with wet chemistry, physical materials testing, analytical instrumentation, and statistical process control
• Willingness to travel regularly
• ASQ CMQ/OE or CQE certification preferred

• Maintain and improve the organization’s ISO 9001 Quality Management System, including document control, procedures, and audit readiness
• Lead third party registration and customer audits
• Provide direction, training, and support to laboratory and site quality personnel
• Oversee physical and chemical testing of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products
• Ensure analytical methods are validated and laboratory instruments are calibrated and maintained
• Lead quality investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive action

Location: Remote (major city in Eastern US with airport access)
Travel: Up to 50%

Our client, a manufacturer of specialty industrial materials, is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to lead its quality management system and laboratory quality across multiple U.S. manufacturing locations.

This role directly supervises a Quality Coordinator and provides functional leadership to site laboratory teams. The position combines quality systems ownership, analytical testing oversight, audit management, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve the organization’s ISO 9001 Quality Management System, including document control, procedures, and audit readiness.
• Lead third party registration and customer audits.
• Provide direction, training, and support to laboratory and site quality personnel.
