Job summary

Ardagh Metal Packaging seeks a Quality Manager to lead the Quality Team and drive continuous improvement across production. You will ensure ISO standards, manage customer complaints, and uphold product specifications to meet deadlines.

The role requires leadership, strong analytical skills, and fluency in German and English, with experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or equivalent in Engineering, Chemistry, Quality Management or related field.
  • Several years in manufacturing, preferably in QA/QM in high-volume production.
  • Proven ability to lead, develop and motivate teams.
  • Strong knowledge of statistical quality control.
  • Hands-on experience planning and following internal and external audits.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Fluent in German and English.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, and inspire the Quality Team, providing consistent leadership across the plant.
  • Support Plant Management in achieving local objectives aligned with strategic goals.
  • Drive continuous improvement by analyzing quality data and implementing improvement plans.
  • Ensure maintenance and calibration of plant measurement and testing equipment.
  • Manage customer complaints, non-conformities, and corrective actions.
  • Identify and elevate quality issues related to raw materials, ODMs, and coils.
  • Ensure production of plates, lithography materials, and inks per specs and deadlines.
  • Implement and maintain product specifications and quality standards.
  • Take ownership of management systems: ISO 9001, ISO 22000, ISO/TS 22002-4.

Due to an upcoming vacancy, we are seeking an experienced and motivated professional to join our team as Quality Manager.

This is a key leadership position with responsibility for maintaining, developing, and continuously improving our quality and hygiene systems. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with ISO standards, act as the voice of the customer and oversee plate-making and lithography management activities.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead, develop, and inspire the Quality Team, providing consistent and exemplary leadership across the plant.
  • Support the Plant Management and the entire management team in achieving local objectives aligned with the strategic goals
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analysing, interpreting, and evaluating quality data and implementing effective improvement plans.
  • Ensure the maintenance, calibration, and ongoing development of plant measurement and testing equipment.
  • Manage customer complaints, non-conformities, and corrective actions
  • Identify, manage, and elevate quality issues related to supplied raw materials, ODMs, and coils.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate production of plates, lithography materials, and ink specifications in accordance with customer requirements and agreed deadlines.
  • Implement and maintain product specifications and quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Take ownership of the site's management systems, including:
  • ISO 9001 Quality Management System
  • ISO 22000 Food Safety Management System
  • ISO/TS 22002-4 Prerequisite Programmes
  • Maintain and continuously improve quality documentation, product standards, management system requirements, and customer specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant quality, food safety, hygiene, and regulatory requirements.

Your Profile

  • University degree, preferably in Engineering, Chemistry, Quality Management, or a related discipline.
  • Several years of experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally within quality assurance or quality management in a high-volume production setting.
  • Proven ability to lead, develop, and motivate teams.
  • Sound knowledge and experience in the field of statistical quality control.
  • Hands‑on experience in the planning, execution, and follow‑up of internal and external audits.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • A proactive, hands‑on approach and a strong drive for continuous improvement.
  • High level of personal motivation and commitment to achieving results.
  • Focus on operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and business performance.
  • Fluent in spoken and written German and English
