Job summary

Ardagh Metal Packaging seeks a Quality Manager to oversee and improve plant quality through process quality systems, completing root-cause analyses and driving corrective actions across the site.

Under the Plant Manager, you will coordinate with Metal North America teams, supervise plant personnel, and ensure HACCP and food safety programs are implemented effectively for sustained product quality and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in technical or relevant discipline required.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in manufacturing.
• 4 years quality experience.
• Excellent management/leadership aptitude.
• Black or Green Belt Certification (preferred).
• Food Safety (BRC/SQF) and HACCP certification (preferred).
• Experience with can manufacturing improvement methods implementation (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Maintain plant quality systems including inspection methods, work instructions, procedures, product specs and GMPs.
• Develop and drive continuous improvement initiatives in plant quality.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in supplier quality.
• Ensure quality system adherence and product integrity.
• Disposition of finished products through data-driven analysis.
• Maintain customer relationships and provide technical and quality support.
• Lead root cause and corrective action investigations for customer complaints and internal nonconformances.
• Audit implementation of corrective actions for complaints and nonconformances.
• Coordinate with Metal North America teams on new business and trials.
• Track supplier defective material claims and manage balance, disposition, rework, and inventory levels.
• Ensure quality procedures are up to date and aligned with requirements.
• Communicate KPIs to floor personnel and promote compliance.
• Educate plant leads and supervisors in HACCP and other food safety programs.
• Prepare quality reviews and submit to management.
• Support development of plant projects and coordinate with Metal North America Personnel.
• Maintain communication with Ardagh Metal Packaging plants.
• Work with HR to resolve personnel issues.
• Provide EH&S representation and environmental sustainability leadership.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.

Under the direction of the Plant Manager, the Quality Manager is accountable for overseeing and improving overall plant quality through the implementation of process quality systems, while ensuring all quality related issues are addressed to achieve maximum efficiency. This position works in collaboration with Metal North America Quality Systems, Operating strategy and Personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for maintenance of plant quality systems including but not limited to inspection and test method, work instructions, procedures, product specs, GMP’s.
• Develop and drive continuous improvement initiatives in plant quality.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in supplier quality.
• Responsible for ensuring quality system adherence and all aspects of product integrity is maintained.
• Responsible for appropriate disposition of finished product through data driven analysis, while assuring compliance to all specifications.
• Maintain established and new customer contact to maintain strong relationships, resolving quality issues, and ensuring technical and quality support.
• Responsible for leading plant root cause and corrective action investigations for customer complaints and internal quality nonconformance’s.
• Audit implementation of corrective actions implementation for customer complaints and internal quality nonconformance’s.
• Coordinate with Metal North America Commercial, Product Development, Quality and Engineering regarding new business and product trials.
• Responsible for accurate and timely resolution of all supplier defective material claims.
• Responsible for tracking the HFI system including balance, disposition, re-work and inventory levels.
• Ensure that plant quality procedures are up to date, in alignment with Metal North America Quality requirements and followed.
• Ensure quality objectives (KPIs) are communicated with floor personnel and develop processes to promote compliance.
• Responsible for educating and instructing plant departmental leads and supervisors in HACCP, internal auditing and other food safety quality (BRC) programs.
• Prepare quality reviews and submit them to management.
• Assist in development of special plant projects and work in conjunction with Metal North America Personnel.
• Maintain continuous communication and interaction with all Ardagh Metal Packaging plants.
• Works closely with human resources to address and resolve personnel issues.
• Direct supervision of plant personnel; may vary by location.
• Responsibility for environmental and sustainability initiatives for the site, acting as an EH&S representative.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.
