Job summary

Haulotte Bil-Jax is seeking a Quality Manager to lead the plant’s quality program and drive continuous improvement across QA, QC, and supplier quality activities. You will maintain ISO 9001 compliance, manage welding quality per AWS D1.1, and coordinate customer interface with inspectors and insurers.

The role requires 5+ years in quality leadership within metal fabrication or capital equipment, strong GD&T skills, and proven ability to drive corrective actions and certification maintenance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of quality leadership in metal fabrication, structure manufacturing, or capital equipment.
• Working knowledge of AWS D1.1 welding codes and weld inspection documentation.
• Experience maintaining a certified ISO 9001 QMS and hosting third-party audits.
• Strong blueprint and GD&T literacy; capable in a fast-paced, low-volume/high-mix environment.
• Excellent written communication for technical reports read by engineers, customers, and insurers.

Responsibilities

• Own and continuously improve the plant’s Quality Management System (QMS) and ISO 9001 audits.
• Ensure compliance with safety-critical manufacturing requirements.
• Maintain product certifications and applicable EN/ANSI standards.
• Manage welding quality programs per AWS D1.1 and EN ISO 3834 including WPS, PQR, and welder records.
• Serve as primary contact for customer quality reps, inspectors, notified bodies, and insurers.
• Develop inspection plans for incoming materials, components, and finished products.
• Oversee dimensional, weld visual, NDT coordination, and testing activities.
• Establish testing protocols for coatings, finishes, and hardware validation.
• Lead supplier qualification and corrective actions for non-conformances.
• Lead root-cause analysis using 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone, and PDCA.
