Quality Manager, Ensinger, Inc. - Houston Operations
Position Summary
Quality Manager will be responsible for the management and monitoring of the QMS and Quality Control aspect of the business and provide leadership to the Quality team. Resolve problems and lead continuous improvement projects of product, processes and the quality management system.
General Duties
- Manage, monitor and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Manage and monitor Ensinger KPIs and processes (COPQ - Cost of Production Quality) and Customer Complaints.
- Monitor and maintain the continuous improvement program (OFI, Risk Register, etc.).
- Respond to customer complaints by initiating and managing SCARs and take proper action for nonconformities.
- Support the QC team with the management of incoming inspections and production flow.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and industry best practices, preparing for and participating in quality audits (Supplier Audits, Customer Audits, Internal Audits, Surveillance Audits, Certification Audits).
- Facilitate and promote problem-solving tools (the seven quality control tools, the seven management and planning tools, root cause analysis, 5 Whys, 8D, Fishbone, FMEA, A3, and other similar models).
- Train and motivate employees to understand and adhere to quality standards, ensuring everyone is aware of their role in maintaining quality.
- Manage the quarterly and yearly Management Reviews.
- Utilize process improvement methodologies – Value streaming, process mapping, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, PDCA.
- Liaise with other departments to ensure quality is integrated into all aspects of the business.
- Manage calibrations of Quality and Production Equipment.
- Understand techniques for facilitating organizational change, removing roadblocks, performing constraint management, motivating and resolving conflicts.
- Promote safe work practices and demonstrate a zero tolerance for non-compliance with safe work practices, policies, and regulations.
- Create an environment where people can grow and develop, and lead by example in creating a positive culture.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in quality assurance and quality control including experience with shop inspections, supplier qualification, and new product development.
- Internal Auditor Certification with ISO 9001:2015.
- Working knowledge of Continuous Improvement tools – Lean, PDCA, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Computer Skills: MS Office and ERP system Styeline a plus.
