Position Summary
The Quality Manager is responsible for leading all quality functions within an automotive injection molding manufacturing environment. This role ensures compliance with IATF 16949 standards, customer-specific requirements, and internal quality systems while driving continuous improvement, defect reduction, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with IATF 16949 and ISO 9001
- Lead internal and external audits (IATF, customer, registrar)
- Serve as primary contact for customer quality issues and lead 8D problem solving
- Oversee injection molding quality performance and defect reduction
- Lead APQP and PPAP processes for new product launches
- Develop and manage quality team members
- Drive continuous improvement using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
- Ensure SPC, Cp/Cpk, PFMEA, and Control Plans are implemented and maintained

- Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ)
- Audit performance
- On-time PPAP submissions
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or related field preferred
- 5+ years in automotive quality leadership
- Injection molding experience required
- Strong knowledge of IATF 16949 and automotive core tools
Skills
- APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans
- SPC and statistical analysis
- Root cause analysis (5 Why, Fishbone, DMAIC)
- Leadership and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt
- Experience with automotive OEMs (Honda, Toyota, etc.)
- High-volume manufacturing experience
