Job summary

Forgent Power in Texas is seeking a Quality Manager to develop, implement, and maintain a robust QMS for engineer-to-order electrical skid manufacturing, driving continuous improvement and a culture of quality.

You will lead QA/QC activities, liaise with customers and internal stakeholders, qualify CTQ characteristics with Engineering, and manage supplier quality, audits, root cause analysis, and CAPA to reduce COPQ and improve customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years in quality management within manufacturing, preferably ETO or electrical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the QMS in alignment with ISO standards.
  • Liaise with customers and internal stakeholders to resolve quality concerns.
  • Identify CTQ characteristics with Engineering; ensure processes meet specs.
  • Qualify suppliers; oversee incoming inspection and monitor quality.
  • Lead QA/QC team with clear expectations and coaching.
  • Conduct audits (internal, customer, third-party) and drive corrective actions.
  • Lead root-cause analysis and implement CAPA to improve quality.
  • Maintain quality records, inspection reports, and certifications.
  • Manage calibration programs for measurement equipment.

Description

The Quality Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a robust quality management system (QMS) to ensure compliance with customer specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. This role oversees all quality assurance and control activities for engineer-to-order electrical skid manufacturing, driving continuous improvement and fostering a culture of quality throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain the QMS in alignment with ISO standards and customer requirements.
  • Act as the primary liaison for all quality-related matters with customers and internal stakeholders and ensure timely resolution of concerns.
  • Identify measurable Critical to Quality (CTQ) characteristics for products with Engineering and develop methods with Manufacturing to ensure processes are controlled to meet customer specifications, industry standards, and internal quality requirements.
  • Qualify suppliers with Purchasing, oversee incoming material inspection, and monitor supplier quality performance.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor the Quality team by establishing clear performance expectations, providing coaching and training, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement, and ensuring adequate resources to achieve quality and business objectives.
  • Conduct and support audits (internal, customer, and third-party) and drive corrective actions.
  • Lead root cause analysis, develop corrective/preventive actions for nonconformities, and ensure corrective actions are implemented and sustained to reduce Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate quality records, inspection reports, and certifications in compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage calibration programs for measurement and test equipment.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field
  • 5+ years in quality management within manufacturing (preferably ETO or electrical systems)
