Quality Manager leads the facility's quality programs and is responsible for maintaining customer and regulatory compliance, overseeing the Quality Management System (QMS), reducing product defects, and driving continuous improvement initiatives throughout the organization.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on, floor-oriented leader who enjoys working with employees and managers to improve product quality, process performance, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the facility's quality programs in compliance with company, customer, ISO, AIB, and other applicable quality requirements.
- Develop, maintain, and enforce policies and procedures related to product quality, process control, document management, and continuous improvement.
- Maintain a visible presence on the production floor, identify quality concerns, and work with management teams to implement timely corrective actions.
- Lead investigations of customer complaints, process failures, nonconforming products, and quality issues; conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain quality records and documentation, including calibration records, inspection reports, audit findings, corrective actions, certifications, and quality metrics.
- Oversee the Quality Management System, including internal and external audits, document control, first-piece inspections, in-process inspections, Certificates of Analysis, engineering change orders, nonconforming materials management, and hold-and-release processes.
- Monitor manufacturing processes and quality performance trends to reduce defects, waste, rework, scrap, and customer complaints.
- Respond to customer quality concerns and coordinate with operations, customer service, and other departments to provide timely and effective resolutions.
- Monitor supplier performance, communicate quality deficiencies, coordinate supplier corrective actions, and conduct supplier assessments or audits as necessary.
- Establish, monitor, and report quality performance measures and key performance indicators (KPIs), communicating results and improvement opportunities to leadership.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on process capability, product quality, efficiency, waste reduction, and customer satisfaction.
- Supervise, train, and develop quality personnel while promoting employee involvement, accountability, and quality ownership throughout the organization.
- Support customer, certification, and regulatory quality audits and inspections.
