Job summary

EMC Renewables is seeking a Quality Manager to lead QA/QC for PV projects. You will serve as onsite leader implementing the Quality Plan, managing QA/QC teams, and acting as the primary liaison with clients, subcontractors, and regulatory bodies.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in solar PV systems, civil engineering, and construction quality, with a commitment to continuous improvement and a willingness to travel up to 100% to project sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years in renewable energy sector, PV plant a plus.
• Knowledge of utility-scale PV systems, civil/electrical/mechanical codes.
• Strong MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve Quality Plans with PM and Site Manager.
• Support QA/QC Supervisors with tests, inspections, documentation.
• Coordinate Quality Control on site and with subcontractors.
• Partner with stakeholders regarding Quality issues.
• Provide follow up on Quality plans and KPIs.
• Liaising with client and main stakeholders.
• Develop and implement new dynamics related to Quality management.
• Organize and maintain QA/QC documentation and generate KPI reports.
• Review subcontractor QA plans and ensure materials meet specs.
• Ensure site activities comply with codes and regulations.
• Perform audits on construction activities and verify corrective actions.

The Quality Manager leads and oversees all quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) activities at the project level. This person serves as the onsite leader for implementing the Quality Plan, manages the quality inspection teams, and acts as the primary quality liaison with onsite client representatives, subcontractors, and regulatory bodies. The ideal candidate has a strong background in solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, electrical infrastructure, civil engineering, and structural construction, committed to driving a culture of quality and continuous improvement.

This position is expected to travel up to 100%.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement and continuously improve Quality Plans in coordination with Project Manager, Site Manager and VP of Construction.
• Support and Coordinate Site QA/QC Supervisors with all QAQC tests, inspections, and documentation.
• Coordinate and Supervise Quality Control in plant.
• Partner with relevant stakeholders regarding Quality issues.
• Provide follow up on Quality plans and KPIs.
• Liaising with client and main stakeholders.
• Develop and implement new dynamics related to Quality management.
• Organize and maintain comprehensive QA/QC documentation, including inspection reports, non-conformance reports, test results, and generate regular quality metrics reports for project and company leadership.
• Review subcontractor QA plans, conduct audits of their work, and ensure that supplied materials and equipment meet specifications.
• Ensure all site activities comply with contractual requirements, manufacturer instructions, and all relevant codes and regulations.
• Perform internal, process and documentation audits on all construction activities, including civil, mechanical, and electrical installations, as well as commissioning. Document findings verifying that corrective actions are implemented to ensure the PV plant is always ready for auditing.

We are looking for candidates who bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Three or more years’ experience in renewable energy sector (experience in photovoltaic plant is a plus).
• In-depth knowledge of utility-scale PV systems, civil construction, electrical and mechanical codes, and QA/QC methodologies.
• Strong skills in MS Office applications.

Environmental Conditions:

• General work environment - sitting, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted in both indoor office settings and outdoor construction job site settings. Environmental conditions will vary.
• Exposure to outside elements can include:
• Hot or cold weather
• Humidity, rain, or other weather conditions
• Loud noises caused by tools, machinery, equipment, etc.
• Potential exposure to chemical substances

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to walk long distances on active construction sites.
• Ability to climb ladders and navigate uneven terrain.
• Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in varied weather conditions.
• Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to wear required PPE and safely access all areas of a construction site.

Requirements and Conditions of Employment

• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and driving record acceptable to company insurance requirements.
