Dedicated HR Professional | Recruiter & HR Assistant @ Wisconsin Plastic Products, Inc.

Summary

Responsible for the ISO 9001 and Wisconsin Plastic Products quality management systems to ensure that all requirements are established, implemented and maintained.

Essential Functions

  1. Supervise a team of quality technicians to ensure that samples are audited and documentation is completed to verify that the product has been inspected and tested according to the quality plan before authorizing its release.
  2. Provide support for extrusion/fabrication personnel on non-conforming product and quality issues.
  3. Interface with customers on product requirement, complaints and quality issues.
  4. Responsible for the proper identification, calibration and control of all inspection, measurement and test equipment used to verify process or product conformance requirements.
  5. Review new products and determine inspection and testing requirements during the Quality planning process. Work with engineering on developing quality plan.
  6. Manage and perform PPAPs (Production Part Approval Process) and FAIRs (First Article Inspection Report).
  7. Work with supervisors on developing work instructions on training materials for production employees.
  8. Manage internal auditing program including: training auditors, scheduling audits, monitoring and reporting audit results.
  9. Coordinate and oversee onsite ISO audits to ensure compliance with standards.
  10. Review the need for corrective actions, identify root causes and implement solutions to correct and prevent the occurrence of nonconforming product.
  11. Maintain and report our monthly KPIs (Key Performance Indicators).
  12. Report the performance of the Quality management system and record the minutes of the management review.
  13. Investigate quality issues with purchased materials and work with suppliers on corrective action.
  14. Schedule and conduct shift meetings to introduce new information and provide training to employees.
  15. The Quality Manager is a “hands on” position, with time expected to be shop floor focused on helping to resolve problems and putting into place solid Quality Systems to improve overall quality and utilization of the company.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position is responsible for overseeing the duties of the Quality Technicians.

The employee frequently is required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies up to 20 pounds.

Qualifications/Education/Experience

  1. Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in related technical field or equivalent education and experience
  2. Quality Management: 5 years of quality or related professional experience
  3. Must have extensive successful background in designing and implementing ISO programs.
