Job description

Eaton’s Electrical Sector – Power Distribution & Controls Assemblies (PDCA) business is seeking a dynamic QualityManager to join our manufacturing site leadership team in Omaha, Nebraska.Relocation assistance will be provided.

Our Omaha Power Center is expanding its operations in Bellevue! Eaton’s new 370,000-square-foot facility is expected to be online in the first half of 2027. The new facility will be designed and optimized to support high volume of switchgear structures at the quality and speed that AI data centers customers require. The engineered-to-order switchgear produced in the new facility can be integrated into Eaton’s prefabricated power systems, which are designed to offer customers flexibility.

The Quality Manager is a key member of the Bellevue Plant Leadership Team and is responsible for establishing, deploying, and sustaining a world-class quality management system for the Home Run facility. This leader owns the Eaton Quality Management System (EQMS), applicable ISO certification, manufacturing and customer quality, product testing operations, quality standards and systems, and plant quality performance.

The role ensures that products, processes, and systems consistently meet Eaton, customer, regulatory, and industry requirements. During plant launch and ramp-up, the Quality Manager will build scalable quality systems, Quality engineer talent, develop organizational capability, and embed prevention, process discipline, risk-based thinking, and continuous improvement into daily operations.

In this role you will:

Quality System Leadership
  • Own deployment, governance, and continuous improvement of EQMS across the facility.
  • Ensure plant processes comply with Eaton quality policies, procedures, standards, and applicable customer‑specific requirements.
  • Establish the site quality strategy, annual quality improvement plan, management review cadence, and quality governance routines.
  • Promote an "I Own Quality" culture in which leaders and employees understand and execute their quality responsibilities.
  • Ensure effective control of documents, records, nonconforming material, corrective actions, change control, calibration, and quality risks.
ISO, Compliance and Audit Leadership
  • Lead implementation and maintenance of ISO 9001 certification and other applicable product, regulatory, and customer quality requirements.
  • Serve as the site leader for certification, surveillance, customer, corporate, and internal quality audits.
  • Develop the annual internal audit plan, maintain qualified auditors, and ensure timely and effective closure of findings.
  • Lead management reviews and provide objective evidence of system effectiveness, risk mitigation, and continual improvement.
  • Maintain audit readiness during facility launch, production ramp‑up, product transfers, and new product introductions.
Test Operations and Product Verification
  • Provide leadership and oversight for the plant test organization, including test supervisors, technicians, processes, equipment, and documentation.
  • Ensure electrical and functional testing is performed to approved Eaton, customer, industry, and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish standardized test methods, qualification requirements, test records, equipment calibration, preventive maintenance, and error‑proofing.
  • Monitor test yield, first‑pass performance, retest, failure modes, and corrective actions to improve test effectiveness and throughput.
  • Ensure failed tests and product nonconformances are contained, dispositioned, investigated, and prevented from recurring.
Manufacturing and Process Quality
  • Partner with Value Stream Managers, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, and Continuous Improvement to build quality into manufacturing processes.
  • Lead quality planning through PFMEA, Control Plans, inspection plans, capability studies, measurement system analysis, and process validation.
  • Implement effective incoming, in‑process, final inspection, and layered process audit strategies based on product and process risk.
  • Drive reduction of defects, rework, scrap, nonconformances, and quality escapes using structured problem‑solving and data analysis.
  • Ensure appropriate containment and escalation when product or process performance does not meet requirements.|
Customer and Supplier Quality
  • Serve as the primary site quality interface for customers and coordinate customer visits, audits, complaints, and corrective action responses.
  • Lead timely and effective root cause analysis, 8D, CAPA, and recurrence‑prevention activities for customer and internal quality issues.
  • Monitor customer quality performance, warranty concerns, and quality escapes; communicate risks and recovery plans to plant leadership.
  • Partner with Supply Chain and Supplier Quality resources to address incoming defects, supplier nonconformance, and supplier performance risks.
  • Ensure customer‑specific requirements are identified, translated into plant processes, and verified for compliance.
Home Run Launch and Industrialization
  • Represent Quality in Home Run operational readiness, PROLaunch, product transfer, and production ramp‑up activities.
  • Ensure quality deliverables are completed for new products, transferred products, new equipment, and new manufacturing processes.
  • Lead production readiness reviews, safe‑launch controls, first‑article and first‑of‑kind verification, and exit criteria for launch containment.
  • Partner with Engineering and Operations to identify launch risks and implement mitigation plans before customer impact.
  • Build scalable systems, staffing, training, and standard work that support the facility growth plan.
People Leadership and Quality Culture
  • Build, organize, and develop a high‑performing quality and test organization with clear accountability and standard work.
  • Set performance expectations, coach team members, conduct talent reviews, and develop succession and capability plans.
  • Establish qualification and training requirements for quality engineers, inspectors, technicians, auditors, and test personnel.
  • Teach and coach leaders and employees in quality systems, problem‑solving, prevention tools, and customer‑focused decision‑making.
  • Model Eaton leadership attributes and reinforce the Eaton Culture through ethical, inclusive, and accountable leadership.

Qualifications:

Required Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in manufacturing, engineering, testing, or quality, including leadership responsibility in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing or maintaining an ISO 9001‑based quality management system and leading internal or external audits.
  • Experience with structured problem solving, corrective action, PFMEA, Control Plans, process capability, inspection, and measurement systems.
  • Experience leading cross‑functional improvement and influencing operations, engineering, supply chain, and business leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to use quality data and KPIs to identify risk, establish priorities, and drive sustained results.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Business, Operations, or Quality Management.
  • ASQ Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence, Certified Quality Engineer, or Certified Quality Auditor.
  • ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification and Eaton Internal Auditor qualification.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • Experience with electrical equipment, medium‑voltage switchgear, complex engineered‑to‑order assemblies, production testing, or regulated product certification.
  • Experience supporting a new facility, major product transfer, new product introduction, or high‑growth manufacturing ramp‑up.
