General Accountability
The Quality Manager will plan, implement, and administer policies to ensure compliance with standards, prevent warranty claims, and report to the Plant Manager.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, communicate, and maintain a quality system that meets or exceeds customer requirements, including goals, policies, procedures, and audit systems.
- Lead cross‑functional teams, analyze root causes, develop corrective action programs, and apply formal problem‑solving methodologies.
- Establish methods and standards to monitor quality performance and implement standard work procedures and quality control checks throughout manufacturing.
- Participate in new product reviews to embed quality into product and process design.
- Develop internal and supplier quality metrics, trend analysis, continuous improvement plans, and statistical reports to support procurement and supplier compliance.
- Reduce variability within processes using problem‑solving techniques.
- Establish a strong customer feedback mechanism with corrective action reports.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years in quality assurance for a commercial product manufacturer, with experience managing quality systems for a highly engineered product portfolio.
- Experience in quality system audits.
Expertise
- Knowledge of ISO/TS, TQM, Six Sigma, and Lean manufacturing principles.
- Strong administrative and management skills.
- Ability to mentor and motivate personnel while balancing staffing, profitability, and growth.
- Proficiency in building positive partnerships and collaborating with cross‑functional teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Applied Sciences; an equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered.
Internal & External Connections
- Internal: Sourcing, Purchasing, Quality, and Production teams.
- External: Interaction with suppliers related to the assigned product family.
Location: Madison, SD (on site).
Benefits & Compensation
- Base Salary Range: $96,000 – $130,000 per year, plus potential annual bonus.
- Benefits include Medical/Dental/Vision, matching 401k, tuition reimbursement, volunteer program, wellness activities, and family events.
- Travel requirements are limited; occasional visits to the Yankton facility may be required.
