Job summary

ABOUT THE JOB:

We are seeking a Quality Manager to lead our growing team, currently based out of Lexington, MA but relocating to Waltham, MA. In this leadership role, you will oversee our manufacturing quality standards, manage our Quality Management System (QMS), and guide cross-functional teams in quality assurance protocols. You will be responsible for driving a culture of continuous improvement, managing supplier quality, and ensuring compliance within a highly regulated environment. WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Lead and mentor the Quality Engineering team, establishing performance standards and driving professional development.
  • Oversee and ensure Quality Management System (QMS) compliance and sustainability to the AS9100 certification.
  • Establish, monitor, and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) for internal, supplier, and field product quality.
  • Drive continuous improvement in product design, manufacturing processes, supplier performance, and field support to enhance reliability across the product lifecycle.
  • Develop and utilize a data-driven approach to evaluate, prioritize, and track product quality and reliability issues.
  • Manage and optimize internal tracking systems for incoming supplier materials, in-process manufacturing, and field quality issues.
  • Lead investigations, initiatives, and projects to identify root causes and implement robust corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) both internally and with suppliers.
  • Oversee the development and sustainability of the raw material and incoming supplier inspection programs.
  • Direct Material Review Board (MRB) activities, including containment, audit, and disposition of any quality escapes or defective material.
  • Partner with Purchasing to evaluate, select, qualify, and manage the performance of suppliers.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to define and execute the product roadmap, partnering with production to ensure incoming material inspections, process control plans, and end‑of‑line tests capture all essential quality requirements.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in engineering, manufacturing, or quality, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Deep experience working with OEM suppliers and manufacturing operations building complex hardware/software systems.
  • Strong background working within highly regulated aerospace/defense, automotive, or medical device environments.
  • Proven experience managing compliance in an ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 regulated environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of Quality core tools, including Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA/8D), Change Management, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Hands‑on experience using mechanical and electrical metrology tools and instruments.
  • Working knowledge of electro‑mechanical design and relevant manufacturing processes.
  • Demonstrated capability as a project manager to drive complex initiatives from start to finish.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in a technical or business management field.
  • Certified Lead Auditor for AS9100 or other ISO 9001-based QMS standards (e.g., ISO 13485, IATF 16949).
  • Experience supporting the manufacturing of Integrated Dewar Cooler Assemblies (IDCAs) and/or Infrared (IR) Cameras.
  • Experience managing quality in high‑mix, low‑volume manufacturing environments.
US Salary Range

$146,000 — $196,000 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full time offers; and are considered part of Anduril's total compensation package.
