Flutes Hanna, an affiliate of Schwarz Partners and corrugated manufacturing industry leader, currently has a Quality Manager position available in Indianapolis, IN! The Quality Manager is responsible for developing, planning, directly quality activities in support of the company’s quality assurance operations and goals. This includes ensuring that company standards are achieved and there is a maintained focus on continuous improvement, providing support, structure, and formalized training for all employees within the organization.

Essential Job Functions For This Position
  • Follow all safety and company policies, reporting any issues, accidents, or incidents immediately; must complete online safety training each month as assigned.
  • Must know all grades of paper, the applications of each, and all aspects of production of corrugated sheets.
  • Develop, implement, maintain, and communicate quality and safety strategies and programs throughout the organization; Investigate customer complaints and non-conformance issues.
  • Manage and provide input into relevant quality systems including corrective actions, customer complaint resolution and change control; quality procedures, standards, policies, and documentation systems; QMS internal auditing and quality system reporting by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Direct and continuously improve standards for the disposition of finished product and rework standards by devising inspection and physical testing methods, procedures, and updating quality assurance procedures as appropriate.
  • Maintain product quality by enforcing quality assurance policies and procedures and other requirements; collaborating with other members of management to develop new training methods.
  • Coordinate activities and facilitate interactions during regulatory agency, notified third party and customer audits; responsible for respective communication and documentation to management.
  • Prepare and conduct quality review meetings with the management team by continuously improving quality and reliability standards.
  • Perform internal QMS audits to ensure company meeting planned arrangements for continuous improvement.
  • Manage quality programs and procedures to ensure processes and products comply with government regulations, meet customer requirements, company expectations, and achieve business goals.
  • Provide leadership, consultation, and advice to all departments on issues related to product quality and safety at plant level.
  • Conduct quality meetings with necessary departments during Management Review.
  • Identify training needs and organize training interventions to meet quality and safety standards.
  • As needed, work with Safety Coordinator and Human Resources in managing work-related injuries, accident investigations, safety training, online training, meetings and/or activities.
  • Audit/calibrate production floor testing equipment.
  • Collect and compile statistical quality data.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED and/or related work experience.
Preferred Education & Experience
  • College Degree.
  • 5 years’ corrugated manufacturing experience.
  • 5 years’ proven management and leadership experience.

  • Responsibilities also include managing processes; making process improvements; strategic planning; complex decision-making;
Language Skills
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as production reports, sales reports, operating instructions, and training and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to communicate effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English; able to understand and speak English one-on-one and via hand-held radio.
Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, costs, profits, proportions, percentages, and volumes.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals; ability to accurately read a tape measure.
REASONING ABILITY
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form.
  • Must possess analytical skills and the ability to resolve problems, conflicts, and complaints.

  • Ability to use a computer.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
