Job summary

AMAX is seeking a Quality Manager to lead quality assurance for its AI servers, GPU-based systems, and data center solutions in Fremont. You will own the QMS, drive continuous improvement, and partner with engineering, operations, and supply chain to embed quality across the product lifecycle.

The role focuses on overseeing inspections, monitoring metrics, leading CAPA, and guiding supplier quality programs to meet customer and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience in quality management within hardware, electronics, or manufacturing environments.
• Strong knowledge of QMS (ISO 9001 or similar).
• Experience with root cause methodologies (8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone).

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) aligned with ISO standards.
• Define quality KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing and operations.
• Partner with engineering, operations, and supply chain teams to ensure quality is embedded throughout the product lifecycle.
• Oversee incoming, in-process, and final inspection processes for servers, storage systems, and rack-level builds.
• Monitor production quality metrics (yield, defect rates, rework, RMA trends).
• Drive root cause analysis and CAPA actions.
• Support supplier quality activities and conduct supplier audits.

Job description

The Quality Manager is responsible for leading and driving all aspects of quality assurance across AMAX’s hardware manufacturing and system integration operations. This role ensures that AI servers, GPU-based systems, and data center solutions meet customer, regulatory, and internal quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) aligned with ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001)
• Define quality KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing and operations
• Partner with engineering, operations, and supply chain teams to ensure quality is embedded throughout the product lifecycle

• Oversee incoming, in-process, and final inspection processes for servers, storage systems, and rack-level builds
• Monitor production quality metrics (yield, defect rates, rework, RMA trends)
• Drive root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)
• Support supplier quality activities, including incoming inspection, supplier corrective actions, and quality performance monitoring
• Conduct supplier audits and manage supplier corrective actions
• Act as the primary point of contact for customer quality issues and escalations
• Ensure compliance with customer specifications and industry standards
• Support customer audits and quality reviews
• Lead and mentor a team of quality engineers
• Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
• 5–7 years of experience in quality management within hardware, electronics, or manufacturing environments
• Strong knowledge of QMS (ISO 9001 or similar)

• Familiarity with manufacturing of servers, storage systems, or similar hardware

The annual salary range for this position is between $130,000 and $160,000.
