Job summary

Precision Turbo and Engine (PTE), a Wabtec Company, seeks a Quality leader to develop, implement, and maintain the organization’s Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO 9001 and customer requirements.

You will lead the Quality team, drive audits, document control, supplier quality, CAPAs, calibration programs, and training, while partnering with operations, engineering, and purchasing to elevate product quality and process performance across the site.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in Quality Management, Engineering or related field and 5–7 years in QA/QC in manufacturing.
• Minimum 3 years managing ISO systems.
• Experience with regulatory compliance and EHS programs is desirable.

How will you make a difference?

As a member of the Wabtec Components Division, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining, and continuously improving the organization’s Quality Management System (QMS) program. This position ensures compliance with ISO standards, customer requirements, regulatory obligations, and company policies while promoting a culture of quality and operational excellence.

What do we want to know about you?

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quality Management, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a quality assurance or quality control role within a manufacturing environment, preferably supporting machining.
• Minimum 3 years of experience managing ISO systems.
• Experience administering regulatory compliance.
• Prior supervisory or management experience preferred.
• Exposure to EHS management, regulatory compliance, and workplace safety programs is desirable.

• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements and auditing techniques.
• Ability to conduct root cause analysis and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Experience with continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and quality-related software systems.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

• Certified ISO 9001 Lead Auditor
• OSHA 30-Hour Certification
• ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 Internal Auditor Certification

What will your typical day look like?

• Provide leadership and oversight for the Quality team while driving initiatives across the site to promote quality excellence and workplace safety.
• Participate in strategic planning and operational review meetings.
• Support customer visits, audits, and regulatory inspections.
• Maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System in accordance with ISO 9001 requirements.
• Lead document control processes, including procedures, work instructions, forms, and records.
• Coordinate internal and external ISO audits and certification activities.
• Conduct management review meetings and prepare performance metrics for leadership review.
• Ensure timely and accurate submission of customer documentation packages, including material certifications, dimensional inspection data, metallurgical reports, PPAP documentation, and other quality-related records as required.
• Monitor and analyze quality performance indicators, including:
  • Customer complaints
  • Internal and external defect rates
  • Cost of poor quality
  • Scrap and rework
  • Audit findings
• Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Direct first article inspection and ensure conformance to quality standards before authorizing continued production as defined by the control plan.
• Partner with operations, engineering, purchasing, and sales teams to improve product quality and process performance.
• Lead supplier quality initiatives and follow-up actions as necessary.
• Manage calibration systems and inspection programs.
• Act as Management Representative for ISO systems.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with applicable ISO standards, including:
  • ISO 9001 Quality Management
• Lead certification, surveillance, and recertification audits.
• Coordinate risk assessments and opportunity planning activities.
• Maintain ISO documentation and records.
• Facilitate continual improvement projects based on audit findings, KPI trends, and business objectives.
• Train employees on ISO requirements, procedures, and quality awareness.
• Travel up to 10% as required to support customer visits, supplier evaluations, audits, training, and business meetings.

• Employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Requires daily face-to-face interaction with employees in an office environment and production line.

The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands, and work location.
