Job summary

Coperion is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance leader to direct the planning, implementation, and maintenance of a robust QA organization and quality system.

You will coordinate with global teams to ensure alignment of policies, processes, documentation, and reporting, while maintaining ISO certification and audits.

Qualifications

  • 7-10 years relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in operations management or business preferred.
  • Proficient in ISO 9001 and quality systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

include the following:

  • Direct the planning, implementation and maintenance of an effective quality assurance organization and quality system for processing information and materials into finished products, which could include, but is not limited to collecting, compiling, analyzing, and reporting quality data
  • Collaborate with the quality team within Coperion Germany to ensure the Coperion Quality System has global alignment on its policies, processes, documentation, and reporting
  • Maintain the documentation required for the ISO certification and coordinate audits with ISO auditor
  • Manage Coperion's compliance with ISO standards
  • Develop, execute, and maintain strategies to improve equipment performance and reliability, minimize quality costs and increase customer satisfaction
  • Develop the system to ensure quality practices and standards are incorporated into manufacturing and engineering processes, and that quality standards are effectively established, documented, and implemented
  • Design the system to properly coordinate and conduct process audits to ensure compliance to and effectiveness of standards
  • Develop and coordinate the implementation of quality plans, audit sheets, standards and procedures required to support sales, engineering, purchasing and production processes
  • Development, implementation and audit the training provided to associates in the proper use of the non-conformance reporting system
  • Analyze the non-conformance tracking system for effectiveness and to identify training needs and facilitate the use of non-conformance data into departmental and company quality metrics
  • Drive the organization's problem solving activities related to lean initiatives, which includes the identification of root-causes and coordination of both immediate resolutions and permanent countermeasures; recommend procedures, inspections, tests, and audits that improve the quality function of the organization; learn, understand, communicate, and implement lean systems consistent with company policy
  • Drive the timely and cost-effective resolution of customer problems by coordinating the technical analysis of product failures and returned goods with appropriate resources from engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, subcontractors, and independent consultants.
  • Define and implement quality activities to ensure that goals are clearly defined, responsibilities are clearly communicated, and appropriate training is provided. Audit activities to verify that implementation is effective and to identify the need for changes
  • Identify opportunities and implement plans to enhance the overall profitability of the Company.
  • Actively support organizational health and excellence through leading projects and initiatives identified during the SDP process
  • Design and coordinate together with Purchasing Leadership Coperion's Supplier-Quality-Management in order to continuously improve supplier quality and on-time-delivery
Supervisory Responsibilities

Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
