Job summary

US Modules in Texas seeks a Quality Manager to lead QA/QC at our solar manufacturing facility, ensuring products meet customer, regulatory, and internal standards.

You will drive continuous improvement, mentor staff, and collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain to achieve exceptional quality and reliability.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in quality management within manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality tools (FMEA, SPC, APQP, PPAP).
  • Familiar with IEC/UL 61215, 61370 requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the QMS per ISO 9001.
  • Lead QA and QC activities including inspections, audits, testing, and process monitoring.
  • Analyze quality data, identify trends, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Manage nonconformance processes and root cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production to ensure new processes and products meet standards.
  • Oversee supplier quality management including supplier audits.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma).

Job description

Quality Manager – Solar Manufacturing

The Quality Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing quality assurance and quality control processes at the solar manufacturing facility. This role ensures that all products meet or exceed customer expectations, regulatory requirements, and company standards. The Quality Manager drives a culture of continuous improvement, defect prevention, and operational excellence while supporting production, engineering, and supply chain teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with ISO 9001 and relevant industry standards.
  • Lead QA and QC activities, including inspections, audits, testing, and process monitoring.
  • Analyze quality data, identify trends, and implement corrective and preventive actions to reduce defects and improve product reliability.
  • Manage nonconformance processes, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure new processes and products meet quality standards.
  • Oversee supplier quality management, including supplier audits and performance monitoring.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards applicable to solar manufacturing.
  • Train and mentor quality staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement projects.
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in quality management within a manufacturing environment, preferably in solar, electronics, or related industries.
  • Strong understanding of ISO 9001, quality tools (FMEA, SPC, APQP, PPAP), and root cause analysis methods.
  • Strong understanding of IEC/UL 61215, 61370 requirements.
  • Proven ability to lead cross functional teams and influence without direct authority.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision making skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in quality management software and MS Office applications.

  • Reduction in product defects and returns.
  • On-time completion of quality audits and corrective actions.
  • Supplier quality performance improvement.
  • Achievement of production quality targets and customer satisfaction scores.
  • Implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in renewable energy or solar panel manufacturing.
  • Certified Manager of Quality/Operational Excellence (CMQ/OE).
  • Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt, or equivalent certification.
  • Knowledge of environmental and safety standards specific to solar manufacturing.
Work Environment
  • Onsite at a solar manufacturing facility with exposure to production areas, equipment, and materials handling.
  • Must adhere to safety policies and wear required PPE.
