Job summary

Kokosing, one of America’s 50 largest general contractors, seeks a Project Based QC Manager to plan, direct, and supervise quality control on active construction sites in Point Pleasant, WV or Shippingport, PA.

You will develop QA/QC procedures, conduct audits, coordinate with owners and regulators, and lead QC staff to ensure compliance with contract requirements and company standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of quality control experience.
• Solid understanding of QA/QC standards and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to lead and communicate with multiple teams on site.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quality control procedures and review department procedures for compliance.
• Prepare, obtain approval, issue and implement QA/QC program manuals in line with contracts.
• Perform audits and address quality problems.
• Provide administrative and technical direction to QC personnel.
• Coordinate with owner, regulators, subcontractors and internal departments on quality matters.
• Ensure QC standards are implemented and corrective actions taken for noncompliance.
• Assist in responses to RFQs/RFPs regarding QA and QC programs.
• Conduct internal/external audits to ensure QC requirements are met.

POSITION SUMMARY

Project Based QC Manager responsible to plan, direct, supervise, and implement project quality control activities in compliance with applicable company standards and programs. This role will be sitting onsite in Point Pleasant, WV or Shippingport, PA.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Prepare quality control procedures (work controlling documents) and review other department procedures for compliance and/or correctness.
• Prepare, obtain approval, issue and implement company quality control (assurance) program manual in compliance with owner contract and company requirements.
• As required by quality control program manual, perform activities such as audits, preparation of quality problems, etc.
• Provide administrative and technical direction to all quality control personnel
• Act as liaison with owner, regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and/or internal departments on quality related matters as required.
• Ensure company standards as outlined in quality control (assurance) manual are effectively implemented.
• Insure adequate corrective measures are implemented in case on noncompliance.
• Assist in preparation of responses to RFQ’s and RFP’s regarding QA and QC programs.
• Perform internal/external audits to ensure quality control requirements are implemented and/or maintained.

Education And Experience

• Possess a bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or equivalent combinations of technical training and experience.
• 4+ years of related/ applicable experience in quality control

Knowledge Skills And Abilities

• Thorough working knowledge of regulatory agency quality assurance/quality control activities.
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills required.
• Demonstrated leadership, communication and strong interpersonal skills are requisite.
• Ability to work independently or as a member of a team.
• Strong work ethic to complete tasks in a high-quality manner.
• Solid attention to detail with the ability to be a problem solver.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Relationships

Reports to the director of Central Engineer and Quality Management and closely interacts with all levels of team members within the organization.

Working Condiditions

Role will be site based, working on an active construction site. 70% of duties are performed in a temperature controlled, fluorescent-light environment, 30% of duties are performed in the field. Others impose 100% of deadlines. Some lifting between 0-20lbs is required.
