About This Role
The Quality Manager will oversee and ensure the consistent quality of products manufactured at the Suwanee facility: STS (Static Transfer Switch) and UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) systems. This role will be responsible for implementing and managing quality systems, processes, standards and customer requirement that meet both local regulatory requirements and global corporate quality objectives, while driving continuous improvement across the plant. The Quality Manager will work closely with the Director of Operations and collaborate with the global quality team to align local initiatives with global standards.
This role is essential to ensuring the quality, consistency, and integrity of products, driving customer satisfaction, and maintaining compliance with global standards.
Key Responsibilities And Accountabilities
- Quality System Management:
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust environmental and quality management systems (EQMS) in accordance with industry best practices and global corporate standards.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable local, provincial, and federal regulations.
- Monitor and improve processes to enhance product quality, consistency, and customer satisfaction.
- Compliance And Certification:
- Lead efforts to maintain and achieve necessary certifications (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001, UL).
- Conduct regular audits of processes and systems to ensure compliance with internal and external quality standards.
- Serve as the primary contact for quality-related audits, inspections, and certifications.
- Product Quality Oversight:
- Oversee the quality of products at all stages of development and manufacturing, including raw material inspection, in-process checks, and final product testing.
- Implement quality control (QC) protocols and testing procedures to ensure consistent product performance.
- Analyze quality data and trends to identify areas for improvement.
- Drive initiatives to reduce defects, improve yield, and enhance reliability.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with production, engineering, and R&D teams to ensure quality is embedded in all aspects of product development and manufacturing.
- With Supply Chain, manage supplier quality programs, including incoming material inspection, supplier audits, and qualification processes.
- Partner with the global quality team to align local practices with corporate quality objectives.
- Training And Development:
- Develop and deliver quality-related training programs for employees to ensure awareness and adherence to quality standards / continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma).
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and quality ownership across all levels of the organization.
- Lead and mentor quality engineers, inspectors, and technicians.
- Reporting And Analysis:
- Establish quality objective, KPIs and reporting mechanism.
- Implement necessary quality tools (e.g., SPC, FMEA).
- Prepare and present regular reports on quality performance, metrics, and initiatives.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) initiatives for product or process nonconformities.
- Maintain detailed documentation of quality processes, inspections, and corrective actions.
- Essential Qualifications, Experience, And Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Certified Quality Manager (CQM), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Six Sigma, or equivalent certification is preferred.
- Certified internal auditor for ISO 9001 a big plus. Proven experience with ISO 9001 and UL is a must.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in quality management, preferably in an engineer-to-order, configure-to-order or custom product manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of electrical equipment (and more specifically UPS – STS) is a plus.
- Proven experience with quality systems (e.g., ISO 9001 – ISO 14001), audits, and compliance.
- Strong understanding of quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) methodologies.
- Proficiency in root cause analysis, corrective action implementation.
- Ability to analyze complex data and make data-driven decisions.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Expertise in Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Effective collaboration across departments and cultural boundaries.
- Occasional international travel to collaborate with the global quality team or other facilities.
- Ability to respond to urgent quality-related matters as needed.

- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Compensation range: $120,000 – $130,000 USD
