Job summary

A leading international manufacturer is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager in Houston, Texas. This role involves leading a quality department to ensure product excellence and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities include managing a team, overseeing the Quality Management System (QMS), setting quality objectives, and interacting with stakeholders to drive continual improvement. We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Manager to lead our quality department, ensuring product excellence and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Team: Lead, manage, and develop a growing team of a Supplier Quality Engineer and a Quality Inspector. Interact with the Plant Manager, Supply Chain Manager, Customer Service Manager, Head of Project Management, and Quality Managers in Europe and Asia. Report to the Operational Excellence lead.
  • Director QMS: As guardian of the QMS, ensure it is regularly reviewed for suitability, adequacy, and effectiveness, and that it is understood and adhered to by all functions. Responsible for audit preparation, action plan implementation, and maintaining ISO certifications.
  • Objectives: Set and promote quality objectives, facilitating performance improvement through quality plan development and process updates based on incident investigations.
  • Improve: Analyse data on QMS effectiveness and evaluate opportunities for continual improvement.
  • Investigations: Lead and develop the incident investigation process throughout the organization.
  • Customers: Interact with customers during audits and factory acceptance tests, lead investigations, coordinate recovery plans, and ensure customer satisfaction assessments are conducted and improvements implemented.
  • Suppliers: Alongside the SQE, ensure all suppliers are selected, evaluated, and re‑evaluated, maintain records, release new vendors, and manage ongoing supplier performance.
  • Training: Ensure all new staff are inducted into QMS requirements and receive updated training as needed.
Secondary Responsibilities
  • Provide advice to various stakeholders regarding product development and quality issues.
Required Qualifications
  • Solid experience in the quality field, in both factory (assembly or production) and projects.
  • Lead Auditor certification or extensive experience with ISO 9001/45001.
  • Analytics skills, ability to move from individual data points to key trends.
  • Wide experience in incident investigations across departments.
  • Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience managing QMSs ideally in an ETO environment.
  • At least 2 years of experience in engineering and production of equivalent products (as quality engineer).
  • Hands‑on experience in the ETO process.
  • Willingness to grow within the organization and develop the quality team.
  • Result‑oriented mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Power Electronics.
  • Experience with ISO 15001.
  • Good organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to motivate and manage cross‑functional interfaces.
  • Strong communication and reporting skills.
  • Creativity, intercultural competence, and drive for innovation and change.
Position Type

This is a full‑time, salaried/exempt position. Days and hours of work are Monday‑Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
