General Function: The quality line auditor is responsible for ensuring that products meet the required quality standards before they are released to the customer.
Job Duties:
- Inspecting products on the production line to ensure they meet the required specifications and quality standards.
- Perform quality process inspections at the gauging station at required intervals following written instructions per the customers' requirements.
- Identifies and reports any quality issues or defects to production supervisors and management, stopping the line for quality issues requiring immediate attention
- Pulls samples for FARO inspection
- Inspects parts at the gauging station for specified dimensions and checks for bow, camber, twist, and flair.
- Watch parts at the line for physical defects such as scratches, burrs, cutoff length, etc.
- Communicate with the machine operator when adjustments are needed
- Communicate with appropriate line personnel when parts need to be held for Quality Review at various machine events:
- Line stops for adjustments
- Adjustment to the cutoff press
- Adjustment for camber or bow
- Coil changes
- Review parts held in Quality Review to determine if they are acceptable or require escalation to the Quality Manager
- Acts as backup for the Packers during breaks or to cover absenteeism.
- Ensure that packing supplies are at the packing station.
- Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned, including projects or assignments to support the plant.
Working Conditions:- The Quality Line Auditor is a safety-sensitive position working directly with machinery and equipment. Frequent exposure to a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment where ambient air temperature can occasionally exceed outside air temperature.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to bend at the waist and knees, walk, and stand for extended periods.
- Must grasp, hold, lift, and move objects weighing up to 20 pounds when necessary.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, crawl under or over, and frequently climb stairs.
- Must be available to work overtime, including weekends, to meet the organization's needs.
Required Education, Experience & Skills:- High School Diploma or equivalent education
- Ability to work with and communicate (verbal and written) effectively within all levels of the organization in English
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide inches and pounds using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to self-motivate, problem-solve, and work in a dynamic environment
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to complete written, oral, or diagram instructions.
