Job summary

The Walsh Group, Ltd. in Goodyear, AZ seeks a Construction Quality Manager for the Water Division to implement and sustain QMS and project-specific quality programs.

You will lead quality planning, inspections, and documentation across multiple projects, coaching staff and driving continuous improvement. Ideal candidates bring 7+ years in AEC, strong communication and problem-solving skills, and relevant QCM certifications.

Qualifications

• AEC Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with codes.
• USACE/NAVFAC/NRC Construction Quality Management certification preferred.
• Industry certifications for testing and inspection as required.
• Willing to travel for projects as necessary.
• Level 1 QCM certification.
• Minimum 7 years of AEC experience, with 3 years in a quality role.
• Strong communication, critical thinking and time management skills.
• Knowledge of applicable standards, specifications and publications.

Responsibilities

• Quality champion for projects, overseeing quality of work, materials, documentation and close-out.
• Coach and train project staff in quality management principles and requirements.
• Mentor Quality staff to advance careers and improve retention.
• Lead quality processes such as planning, pre-activity meetings, material management and inspections.
• Establishes and reports KPIs and QIRs to drive continuous improvement.
• Analyze project KPIs, identify trends and develop improvement strategies.
• Audit project quality programs using QC evaluations and tools.
• Provide feedback to Operations on major QIRs and non-conformances.
• Direct inspections, testing and documentation of works.
• Schedule inspections and testing with operations, consultants, labs and clients.
• Create and implement project-specific inspection/test plans and QC procedures.
• Support material specs review (concrete mix design, thermal control, etc.).
• Manage risk to improve profitability via process management and mitigation.
• Maintain relationships with owners, clients, subcontractors and stakeholders.
• Support Site Safety to ensure compliance with procedures.
• Monitor project quality costs and resources; optimize budgets.
• Monitor rework costs via QIR system.
