Employee Workplace in Dearborn, MI is seeking a hands-on Quality Manufacturing Engineer to support supplier quality, production readiness, and process improvement for automotive interior components. The role requires experience with stamping, welding, thermoforming, and APQP/PPAP.

You will lead quality initiatives, drive root-cause analysis, and collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to improve processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years in manufacturing engineering, supplier quality, or product launch support.
• Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, quality systems, and corrective action processes.
• Experience with stamping, welding, and thermoforming operations.
• Automotive manufacturing experience preferred.
• Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier quality and manufacturing readiness activities for automotive interior components.
• Drive APQP and PPAP deliverables to support successful product launches.
• Investigate production issues, implement corrective actions, and perform root cause analysis.
• Evaluate supplier capacity, quality, and delivery performance using data-driven metrics.
• Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to improve manufacturing processes and product quality.
• Support manufacturing feasibility reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Travel to supplier locations up to 70% as needed.
