Job description

Job Summary:

Performs all aspects of Quality Control testing, sampling, data entry and associated paperwork related to final product release and support of technology departments. Leads quality improvement efforts; develops and documents procedures and methods as necessary. Serves as Trainer/SME for all lab tasks and as back-up/designee for routine Quality Manager tasks. Performs support activities such as ordering/receiving supplies, helping to maintain satellite labs, attends BBS Steering Team and Joint Health and Safety Committee as QC Lab representative.

Rotating Shift – 10 hrs, 6am – 4pm/6pm – 4am. 5 week rotation

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Quality Control – 40%

  • Quality Control testing for certification of products following current test procedures for all products.
    • Maintain knowledge of all Arkema test procedures
  • Perform Maintenance, calibrations and verifications of all QC equipment
  • Quality Control data entry and release of final products to approved specifications
  • Print and inventory all labels in accordance with weekly production schedule
  • Maintain required documentation and filing of records, as required by all relevant Quality Systems.
  • Maintain and prepare assigned equipment and standards to ensure accurate and precise analytical results.

Quality Assurance – 30%

  • Serve as liaison to other departments for Quality topics
  • Complies with all aspects of Plant Quality policy and safety requirements
  • Assist in the initiation and investigations of quality related incidents.
  • Performs shift Quality Assurance requirements – including batch sheet review and audits

Safety – 20%

  • Maintain a safe work area in the lab.
  • Supports the site HESQ policy and complies with all regulatory and internal requirements
  • Participates in HES activities provided by site management and Arkema Inc. (e.g., Behavioral Base Safety, SafeStart, etc.)

Continuous Improvement – 10%

  • Participates in Quality improvement processes and continual learning programs
  • Support technology departments in trending data and troubleshooting quality issues

Education/Experience:

  • 1 year experience in an analytical chemistry lab preferred
  • Associates degree is science or related field
    • Titration and other wet chemistry experience preferred.
    • Knowledge of Chemstation Software, Agilent GCs and LCs preferred

Competencies/Knowledge:

  • Good organizational and communication skills
  • Basic troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to multitask while working independently and balance priorities
