Job summary

DANONE North America seeks a Quality Control Lab Technician at our Portland, Oregon facility. You will perform bench-top analyses of critical quality parameters, conduct microbiological testing, and ensure in-process and finished goods meet specifications on 2nd shift.

Responsibilities include hold/disposition, data analysis for trends, environmental tests of fluids and air, audits to HACCP/CQA standards, and maintaining a clean, safe lab.

Qualifications

  • Preferred bachelor’s degree in Science.
  • Minimum requirement associate degree in Science or minimum two years lab experience.
  • Strong communication and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform bench-top analysis of critical quality parameters according to SOPs and control plan.
  • Conduct microbiological testing of in-process samples and finished goods.
  • Hold products when results fall outside specifications and assist in disposition.
  • Analyze data statistically to identify trends and variation.
  • Perform environmental tests of Primary & Secondary Fluids and Air Quality.
  • Maintain the lab in a clean, safe, and orderly manner and audit equipment and processes.

We have an opening for a Quality Control Lab Technician based in our Portland, Oregon manufacturing facility. In this role, you will support the manufacturing plant by providing quality control on 2nd shift.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Perform bench-top analysis of critical quality parameters in accordance with SOP’s and control plan. Record data to assure that in-process samples and finished goods are in compliance to specifications.
  • Conduct microbiological testing of in-process samples and finished goods in accordance with SOP’s and control plan and report results.
  • Hold finished product when results fall outside of acceptable range, investigate root cause and propose solutions. Assist in disposition of hold products through retest and /or providing sorting instructions to supply chain.
  • Analyze data statistically looking for trends, common and special cause variation.
  • Perform required environmental tests of Primary & Secondary Fluids as well as Air Quality.
  • Perform audits on equipment, materials, products and procedures to assure that the lab is in compliance based on CQA (Corporate Quality Assurance) and HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) procedures.
  • Maintain the laboratory in a clean, safe and orderly manner on a daily basis.

About You
The ideal candidate will have:

Preferred bachelor’s degree in Science. Minimum requirement associate degree in Science or minimum two years lab experience At least one year of experience in food-processing environment preferred Basic understanding of warehouse management systems Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office Suite Possesses good oral and written communication skills; and ability to analyze technical data to form conclusions / make recommendations Ability to drive results with minimal supervision Requires good sensory skills Ability to effectively read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Demonstrated ability to communicate orally or in written form effectively in co-workers, departments, preferably customers and vendors as well.   • Perform and complete line checks
  • Maintain a sanitary and well stocked area.
