Job summary

Danone Springfield, OR is seeking a Quality Assurance Tech I to ensure products meet food manufacturing standards and customer expectations. The role covers micro testing, line checks, packaging verification, and documentation, with grave shift Sunday – Wednesday 10:00 PM–8:30 AM.

You will work with cross-functional teams to maintain QA records and support process improvements, while contributing to error prevention and compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in food science, biochemistry, or a related field, or an associate degree with 2+ years of relevant experience, or 5+ years of related work experience.
  • Knowledge of laboratory practices and procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct micro testing of pasteurized mix, microbiology and allergen tests for finished goods samples.
  • Verify ingredients and packaging at startup of production lines and during runs.
  • Conduct sensory evaluations of all finished goods samples to ensure quality guidelines are met.
  • Conduct hourly line checks including metal detector validations and sample collections.
  • Issue non-conformance holds and dispositions on material and finished product.
  • Assist in QA data management by documenting testing results on paper and computer files.
  • Complete document review of QA and production paperwork for accuracy.

Grave Shift: Sunday – Wednesday (10:00 PM – 8:30 AM)

The Quality Assurance Tech I is responsible for following Danone’s systematic process that helps our products meet federal and state food manufacturing compliance, and customer needs and expectations, in addition to preventing product defects before they arise.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • You will conduct micro testing of pasteurized mix, and microbiology and allergen tests of finished good samples for So Delicious Dairy Free plant and Plant 3 samples to ensure compliance.
  • You will verify ingredients and packaging at startup of production lines and throughout the production runs for all products.
  • You will conduct sensory evaluations of all finished goods samples to ensure product quality meets guidelines.
  • You will conduct hourly line checks including metal detector validations and sample collections.
  • You will issue non-conformance holds and dispositions on material and finished product.
  • You will assist in quality assurance data management by documenting testing results on both paper documents and computer files.
  • You will complete document review of QA and production paperwork, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

About You

The ideal candidate will bring a combination of education, experience, and skills that enable them to excel in this position. The following qualifications outline what we’re looking for, including both required and preferred criteria:

  • You will meet one of the following:
    • Bachelor’s degree in food science, Biochemistry, or a related field, or
    • Associate’s degree in food science, Biochemistry, or a related field and a minimum of two (2) years relevant work experience, or
    • Minimum of five (5) years’ relevant work experience.
  • You will have knowledge of laboratory practices and procedures.
  • You will have demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • You will have demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally, communicate clearly, and coordinate efforts around process improvement.
  • You will have demonstrated ability to prioritize and meet deadlines within specified time constraints.
