Job summary

Alamance Foods Inc. is seeking a Quality Lab Technician to support front-line lab activities, ensuring food quality and safety across aerosol dairy products.

You will perform routine QC testing, document results, and assist in regulatory compliance and product development trials. The role requires a high school diploma or higher with quality experience, GMP familiarity, and basic Excel/Office skills. Teamwork, safety, and accuracy are essential in a fast-paced laboratory environment.

Qualifications

  • High school or higher degree with experience in Quality, or related field preferred.
  • GMP knowledge and understanding of laboratory data are required.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine quality control testing on aerosol dairy products, including physical, chemical, and microbiological analyses.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of tests and results; generate reports as required.
  • Capable of daily laboratory operations with adherence to protocols and safety standards.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and coordinate with supervisors for maintenance and repairs.

Responsibilities include engaging in laboratory processes to maintain food quality and safety standards. This position offers the chance to work with a diverse array of lab equipment and techniques, while collaborating with quality lab technicians of different experience levels. It also provides an opportunity to express your passion for laboratory quality and apply your knowledge to enhance food quality and safety across various product types.Essential Duties/ResponsibilitiesPerform routine quality control testing on aerosol dairy products, including physical, chemical, and microbiological analyses.Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.Conduct sensory evaluations and assist in product development trials.Maintain accurate records of tests and results, generating reports as required.Capable of carrying out daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring adherence to established protocols and procedures.Maintain adherences to safety regulations and best practices, promoting a culture of safety within the laboratory.Capable of determining exposure or potential impacts to our products quality and potential improvements with superiors.Demonstrates basic computer skills required for the position – excel spreadsheet, word and basic abilities to read and manipulate drawings.Monitor and maintain inventory levels of laboratory supplies, equipment and maintenance activities as needed, all with supervisor coordination.Communicate with various departments across the organizationEnsure accurate and timely documentation recording of experimental data.Troubleshoot technical issues and equipment malfunctions, reporting any needed repairs and maintenance with appropriate personnel.Apply 80/20 principles to daily operation.Maintain data calibration of all quality control equipment and measurement devices.Stay up to date with advancements in laboratory techniques, technologies, and regulatory requirements, and adapt to new relevant improvements.Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory guidelines.Prepare and maintain reports, records, and documentation related to laboratory operations, experiments, and safety procedures.Perform daily/weekly data verification of laboratory binder books, quality paperwork and production paperwork and able to call out any needed corrections prior to filing away.Capable of keeping up to date with daily retention and needed requested samples of production runs that need to be grabbed.Capable of creating any needed Hold Tag upon request after the training.Capable of carrying out proper documentation of any destruction of goods when requested after training.Perform other related duties as assigned.Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting teamwork, open communication, and knowledge sharing among other peers.QualificationsBilingual with Spanish and English preferred but not required.Knowing and adhering to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)Demonstrated understanding with Laboratory data.Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.Basic knowledge of laboratory techniques, equipment, and safety protocols.Communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact.Capable of lifting around 30 pounds of weight.Committed to maintaining a safe, clean, organized, and ethical work environment.Willingness to adapt to changing technologies and scientific advancements.Education/Training/Certifications:High school or higher degree with experience in Quality, or related field preferred.Travel Requirements:No travel requirement for this positionPhysical Requirements:StandingWalkingSittingUse of hands, fingersReaching with hands and armsClimb and balanceStoop, kneel, crouch or crawlTalk and hearDistance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more)Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors)Peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point)Depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships)Alamance Foods Inc. is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate against persons because of age, race, color, creed, religion, disability, gender, ethnic or national origin, or veteran status.
