Service Center Metals is seeking a meticulous Quality Laboratory Technician at our Prince George, VA facility. You will collect, prepare, and analyze extrusion mechanical property samples to ensure proper chemistry and quality, reporting to the Lab Supervisor.

The role requires attention to detail, strong math skills, and the ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift including nights and weekends. Training and safety are emphasized in our drug-free workplace.

• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift including days, nights, and two weekends a month.
• Able to walk, reach, stoop and bend throughout the day.
• Lift 30–50 lbs. occasionally.
• Work in hot temperatures up to 120 degrees.
• Strong mathematical skills for data analysis and interpretation.
• High School Graduate or GED.

Responsabilités

• Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean, orderly work areas.
• Complete pre-check equipment inspections.
• Participate in safety observations and improve safe work habits.
• Scan, prep and operate aging ovens per alloy-temper requirements.
• Cut, machine and test mechanical property samples per ASTM traceability.
• Use vertical band saw, CNC mill, lathe and drill press.
• Dispose of tested mechanical property tests after completion.
• Ensure non-conforming product is quarantined.
• Review and release orders to next step in process.
• Assist in dock and process audits.
• Prepare daily shift reports for quality and operations personnel.
