Responsibilities

• Perform dimensional inspections using CMM, SmartScope, Mahr, Keyence, Form Tracer and other equipment.
• Properly position and fixture parts for inspection.
• Select and run established inspection programs per check sheets and work instructions.
• Review inspection results for completeness and accuracy.
• Communicate inspection results and out-of-spec conditions promptly to production.
• Maintain an efficient flow of inspections to minimize downtime for machines.
• Assist production staff with proper measurement techniques and equipment use.
• Conduct periodic audits to verify compliance with quality requirements.
• Identify discrepancies in sheets, plans or methods and notify Quality personnel.
• Support with containment activities when quality issues are found.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation.

Join Our Quality Team

Supreme Machined Products is seeking a Quality Lab Technician to support our manufacturing operations by performing dimensional inspections and providing timely, accurate measurement results to production.

This is a hands-on quality position that requires strong attention to detail, accuracy, and excellent people skills. The Lab Technician works closely with production employees throughout the day, so the ability to communicate professionally, respectfully, and effectively is critical to success in this role.

Inspection programs are already established. The Lab Technician will be responsible for properly preparing parts for inspection, selecting and running the appropriate programs, reviewing the results, and communicating those results to production.

What You'll Do

• Perform dimensional inspections using CMM, SmartScope, Mahr, Keyence, Form Tracer, and other measurement equipment.
• Properly position and fixture parts for inspection.
• Select and run established inspection programs according to check sheets, control plans, and work instructions.
• Carefully review inspection results for completeness and accuracy.
• Communicate inspection results and out-of-specification conditions promptly and professionally to production employees.
• Maintain an efficient flow of inspections through the Quality Lab to help minimize the amount of time production employees spend away from their machines.
• Assist production employees with proper measurement techniques and use of inspection equipment.
• Conduct periodic audits of production parts to verify compliance with quality requirements.
• Identify discrepancies or concerns involving check sheets, control plans, inspection methods, or inspection frequencies and communicate them to the appropriate Quality personnel.
• Assist with additional inspection and containment activities when quality issues are identified.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation.

What We're Looking For

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy are required. Must be able to consistently follow established inspection procedures, check sheets, control plans, and work instructions and accurately review and communicate inspection results.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required. Must be able to work respectfully, professionally, and cooperatively with employees at all levels of the organization.
• Must be approachable and able to communicate inspection results and quality concerns in a helpful, professional, and respectful manner, including when addressing problems or disagreements.
• Ability to stay organized and manage multiple inspection requests while maintaining accuracy and responding to production needs in a timely manner.
• Ability to recognize discrepancies or unusual inspection results and communicate concerns to the appropriate Quality personnel.
• Manufacturing, quality inspection, or related experience preferred.
• Ability to learn and operate CMM, SmartScope, Mahr, Keyence, Form Tracer, and other lab equipment using established inspection programs and procedures.
• Basic computer skills for data collection, documentation, and reporting.
• Dependable and able to work effectively with limited supervision.
