Job summary

Actalent, Inc. is seeking a Quality Control Lab Technician for a contract-to-hire role in Schaumburg, IL.

You will ensure that all prescribed testing of production batches is conducted according to established test methods and that batches meet specifications. You will perform tests such as color, gloss, viscosity, and other physical properties, determine adjustments to quality specs, approve final fill check panels, and maintain batch records while following ISO procedures.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of quality control lab experience.
• Ability to perform tests related to color, gloss, viscosity, and physical properties.
• Knowledge of math including percentages and fractions.
• Attention to detail and ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Ensure prescribed testing of production batches is conducted per established test methods.
• Test production batches to meet established specifications.
• Perform tests including color, gloss, viscosity, and physical properties.
• Determine adjustments to bring product into quality specifications.
• Approve final fill check panels for production.
• Maintain batch records and follow ISO procedures.
• Support short-term projects in the Quality Department.
• Follow labeling requirements for hazardous waste containers.
• Keep work stations clean and retain storage area.

Job description

As a Quality Control Lab technician, you will ensure that all prescribed testing of production batches is conducted in accordance with established test methods and that all production batches meet established specifications. You will also approve final fill check panels for production. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Ensure that all prescribed testing of production batches is conducted in accordance to established test methods and that all production batches are tested and meet established specifications.


• Perform various quality testing including but not limited to color, gloss, viscosity, and physical properties, etc.


• Determine adjustments required to bring product into quality specifications.


• Ascertain that all batches meet required color limits and that all products meet specs prior to filling.


• Approve final fill check panels for production.


• Keep records of batch adjustments, fill checks, etc. on batch ticket.


• Follow all ISO procedures.


• Work on various short-term projects relating to the efficiency of the Quality Department determined by the Quality Manager.


• Be aware of the labeling requirements for the hazardous waste container as part of their job function.


• Maintain clean and organized work stations and the retain storage area.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Schaumburg, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
