Job summary

Actalent, Inc. seeks a Quality Assurance/Quality Control professional to ensure safety and quality of food products through documentation, audits, and inspections in Chicago, IL. Responsibilities include sample preparation, lab submissions, and COA releases.

Qualifications include a B.S. in Chemistry, Biology, or Food Science and 2+ years in food manufacturing, with ATP swabbing, air/water sampling, and SAP/HACCP/PCQI familiarity. This is a fully onsite contract role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Biology, or Food Science.
• 2+ years in food manufacturing (quality control or food safety).
• Experience with ATP swabbing, air samples, and water samples.
• Familiarity with certificates of analysis, SAP, HACCP, and PCQI.

Responsibilities

• Ensure microbiological samples are ready for lab submission and documentation is accurate.
• Complete paperwork reviews for production and warehouse; sign off and log in system.
• Work with Microsoft and SAP for documentation.
• Release products and certificates of analysis to customers.
• Perform GMP and PPE inspections, ATP swabbing, air and water sampling.
• Conduct audits on tools and verification processes.

Job description

The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and quality of our food products through meticulous documentation, audits, and inspections. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Ensure all microbiological samples are ready to submit to the lab, ensuring all documentation is accurate, and deliver samples to the pick-up courier before the cut-off time.
• Complete all paperwork reviews for production and warehouse, sign off on all documentation, and log into the system.
• Work within Microsoft and SAP for documentation.
• Release products and certificates of analysis to customers.
• Perform GMP and PPE inspections, environmental (ATP) swabbing, and take air and water samples.
• Conduct audits on tools and verification audits.
• Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Biology, or Food Science
• 2+ years of experience working in food manufacturing, either in quality control or food safety.
• Experience with ATP swabbing, air samples, and water samples.
• Familiarity with certificates of analysis, SAP, HACCP, and PCQI.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Chicago, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.44 - $31.25/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
