Job summary

Nova Biomedical in Westbrook, ME is seeking a Laboratory Chemist I to support Quality Assurance activities within the corporate QMS. The Laboratory Chemist I will ensure product quality by performing tests and calibrations at various stages of product manufacturing according to established procedures and ISO 17025 and ISO 17034 requirements.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of ISO 17025, ISO 17034, ISO 9001, GLP, GMP required.
• 0-5+ years of laboratory experience.
• Ability to wear PPE.
• Solid mechanical aptitude.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow documented processes.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing, calibration, and inspection of instrumentation and test kits at defined manufacturing stages in accordance with approved procedures and ISO 17025/17034 requirements.
• Manufacture liquid test consumables and certified reference materials in accordance with GLP/GMP requirements.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment safely to ensure accurate results.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with departments including R&D.
• Identify issues that may affect test performance and notify relevant personnel.
• Write reports and present findings clearly.
• Perform qualifications, experiments, verifications, and validations as assigned.
