Job summary

VulcanForms Inc. is seeking a Quality Inspector to join our Quality Inspection team, ensuring parts meet precise standards. You will apply GD&T, perform FAI inspections, and support audits and continuous improvement in a fast-paced metal additive manufacturing environment.

This is a 24/7 operation with weekend shifts (Friday–Sunday and alternating Thursday 6:00 pm–6:00 am). The position offers competitive pay: $23–$38 hourly, plus a 15% shift differential and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of part inspection experience with strong drawing interpretation.
• Strong GD&T knowledge; FAI, TMV experience.
• AQL sampling techniques experience.
• Dimensional and visual inspection proficiency.
• Root cause analysis and data analysis experience.
• Experience in medical device, aerospace, or defense manufacturing.
• Troubleshooting inspection equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) and routine part inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other gauges; ensure conformance to specifications.
• Verify materials, equipment, processes, and products meet quality specs; participate in audits and gap analysis.
• Develop and validate inspection methods; assist in creating SOPs and inspection protocols.
• Monitor, analyze, and report on product quality metrics.
• Support compliance with customer and industry requirements (AS9100, ISO 9001, ISO 13485).
• Assist in implementing process controls and corrective actions for continuous improvement.
• Investigate and troubleshoot production issues and nonconformances; issue nonconformance reports; support MRB.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) and routine part inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other gauges.
• Verify that materials, equipment, processes, and productscomply withquality specifications.
• Develop andvalidateinspection and test methods;assistin creating SOPs and inspection protocols.
• Monitor,analyze, and report onproduct qualitymetrics.
• Support compliance with customer, internal, industry (AS9100, ISO 9001, ISO 13485), and regulatory requirements through audits and gap analysis.
• Assist in developing and implementing process controls, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure that workflows, processes, and productscomply withsafety regulations.
• Investigate and troubleshoot product or production issues.
• Inspectmanufactured parts, issuing non-conformance reports, and facilitating MRB hardware disposition and corrective action tasks.
• Work independently and manage daily priorities with minimal supervision.
• Communicate and collaborate with operations personnel to ensure production needs are met.
• Initiate and communicate identified nonconformances.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience performing part inspections with strong drawing interpretation skills.
• Extensive knowledge of GD&T principles.
• Experience with First Article Inspections (FAI), Test Method Validation (TMV), and developing inspection methods.
• Proficiency in AQL sampling techniques.
• Skilled in performing dimensional and visual inspections.
• Experience with root cause analysis, data analysis, and troubleshooting.
• Experience in medical device, aerospace, or defense manufacturing required.
• Hands-on experience with advanced inspection equipment and software, including CMMs, PCMMs, vision systems, profilometers, and blue light scanners (e.g., Zeiss, Faro, Keyence).
• Ability to troubleshoot issues encountered with inspection equipment.
• Verify that materials, equipment, processes, and productscomply withquality specifications.
• Self-motivated, hands-on team player with excellent communication skills, adaptable to fast-paced startup environments and excited by new challenges in metal additive manufacturing.

The hourly pay range for this position varies by level; final level and compensation will be determined _based on a candidate’s experience.

The hourly pay range for this position is $23 - $38 per hour. This role shall also include a pay differential of 15% on any applicable shift not included in the standard base-pay shifts.
