Job summary

VulcanForms Inc. is seeking a Quality Inspector to join our 24/7/365 quality team in Massachusetts.

You will perform FAI and routine inspections, verify conformance to drawings and standards, and help develop inspection methods in a fast-paced metal additive manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have strong GD&T knowledge, 3+ years of inspection experience, and hands-on experience with CMMs, vision systems, and other inspection tools.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of part inspection experience with strong drawing interpretation.
• Extensive knowledge of GD&T principles.
• Experience with FAI, TMV, and developing inspection methods.
• Proficiency in AQL sampling techniques.
• Skilled in dimensional and visual inspections.
• Experience with root cause analysis, data analysis, and troubleshooting.
• Experience in medical device, aerospace, or defense manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience with advanced inspection equipment and software (CMMs, PCMMs, vision systems).
• Ability to troubleshoot issues encountered with inspection equipment.
• Self-motivated, hands-on team player with excellent communication.

Responsibilities

• Verify materials, equipment, processes, and products meet quality specifications.
• Develop and validate inspection methods; assist in creating SOPs and inspection protocols.
• Monitor, analyze, and report on product quality metrics.
• Support compliance with customer, internal, industry (AS9100, ISO 9001, ISO 13485), and regulatory requirements through audits and gap analysis.
• Assist in developing and implementing process controls, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure workflows, processes, and products comply with safety regulations.
• Investigate and troubleshoot product or production issues.
• Inspect manufactured parts, issuing non-conformance reports, and facilitating MRB disposition and corrective action tasks.
• Work independently and manage daily priorities with minimal supervision.
• Communicate and collaborate with operations personnel to ensure production needs are met.
• Initiate and communicate identified nonconformances.

Job Purpose

As a Quality Inspector at VulcanForms you will work in a diversified role within our Quality Inspection team dedicated to ensuring every product we deliver meets the highest standards of precision, safety, and reliability. Key Responsibilities

• Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) and routine part inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other gauges.

• Experience with root cause analysis, data analysis, and troubleshooting.
• Experience in medical device, aerospace, or defense manufacturing required.
• Hands-on experience with advanced inspection equipment and software, including CMMs, PCMMs, vision systems, profilometers, and blue light scanners (e.g., Zeiss, Faro, Keyence).
• Ability to troubleshoot issues encountered with inspection equipment.
• Verify that materials, equipment, processes, and productscomply withquality specifications.
• Self-motivated, hands-on team player with excellent communication skills, adaptable to fast-paced startup environments and excited by new challenges in metal additive manufacturing.

The hourly pay range for this position varies by level; final level and compensation will be determined _based on a candidate’s experience.

The hourly pay range for this position is $23 - $38 per hour. This role shall also include a pay differential of 10% on any applicable shift not included in the standard base-pay shifts.
