Compensation

Hourly base pay rate is $25.82 - $38.70/hour. The hourly base rate may vary based on location and candidate qualifications. Position may include additional compensation such as commissions or incentives.

Job Description

At Manheim (a Cox Automotive company), we’re hiring a Quality Inspector Trainer. This role is central to our Inspections team, providing high-quality service to clients onsite. The inspector will document vehicle conditions accurately, ensuring vehicles are ready for sale both in-lane and online. Interested? Keep reading!

What You'll Do:

Key responsibilities include:

  • Mastering VIN recognition, vehicle documentation, damage identification, and repair cost estimation (certification required)
  • Assessing vehicle value, documenting conditions, and completing inspection reports
  • Traveling to client locations and auctions for inspections and audits (up to 75% or more)
  • Performing vehicle inspections, including damage assessment and test drives
  • Maintaining professional appearance and client engagement
  • Using equipment and software tools proficiently
  • Photographing and uploading vehicle images and damage documentation
  • Ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures
  • Preparing daily activity reports and performing end-of-day procedures
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, lift up to 30 lbs, and perform related tasks
  • Handling special projects and staying updated with system and policy changes

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED with 7 years of related experience, or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate standard and automatic vehicles
  • Strong communication, technical, and organizational skills
  • Certification in vehicle inspection (Manheim ICP Level IV or higher)
  • Physical ability to perform inspection tasks

Work Environment:

Includes outdoor conditions, moderate noise, potential exposure to fumes, and extended driving. Overtime may be required based on business needs.

Drug Testing

Pre-employment drug screening required. Cox is a drug-free workplace; illegal drug use during work hours is prohibited.
