Job summary

ITW in Zeeland, MI is seeking a Quality Inspector to ensure only quality products are produced and to meet customer expectations of zero defects. You will perform in-process and final inspections and support production as needed.

Using micrometers, calipers, indicators, rings, and plugs, you will measure parts, maintain neat quality records, verify SPC data, and ensure correct labeling and documentation. You will participate in team activities and uphold safety and housekeeping standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, understand, and communicate in English sufficiently to follow work instructions, safety requirements, and quality documentation.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Basic knowledge of blueprint reading, SPC, and shop floor gauging/measurement equipment.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform assigned in-process and final inspections.
• Monitor products using workstation equipment to ensure quality.
• Maintain quality documents in a neat and orderly manner.
• Measure and inspect parts according to the Operator Inspection Instruction.
• Support and assist production as necessary or required.
• Identify nonconforming or suspect products and initiate containment process.
• Verify that SPC data is being correctly gathered, recorded, and monitored.
• Gather paperwork, SPC data, and gauges necessary for upcoming production jobs.
• Comply with procedures, safety standards, and housekeeping practices by keeping work area clean, safe and organized.
• Complete and compare WIP Traveler and label info to ensure correct labeling.
• Participate in team activities and contribute to overall team success.
• Perform other duties as assigned or directed.
