This role supports receiving and shipping quality activities by inspecting aero-engine hardware, verifying quality documentation, and accurately entering technical quality records into internal and customer systems.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in a technical discipline plus 3+ years in inspection, or 5+ years of relevant experience without a degree.
  • Proficient in interpreting blueprints and GD&T to determine inspection criteria.
  • Experience with manual inspection using hand gages, optical comparators, thread gages, and visual methods.
  • Ability to review and compile technical records including certificates of conformance.
  • Experience supporting AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect incoming aero-engine hardware and shipping orders using visual inspection and applicable gaging methods.
  • Measure components using hand gages, optical comparators, and advanced thread gages, including Johnson gages.
  • Review blueprints, GD&T, specifications, and quality requirements to determine inspection criteria.
  • Verify certificates of conformance and other technical records for availability, accuracy, and completeness.
  • Enter, retrieve, and maintain technical quality data in internal databases, customer systems, forms, and data-submittal portals.
  • Support First Article Inspection Report (FAIR) packages by completing FAI inspections and verifying supporting quality records in accordance with AS9102.
  • Identify, segregate, and document nonconforming material in accordance with established procedures.
  • Create clear digital photographic documentation when required.
  • Collaborate daily with the project or team leader and peers to meet quality, delivery, and customer-service expectations.

Position: Quality Inspector Technicians

Shift: 1st | Hours: 6AM - 6PM Type: Full-Time | Mode: Contract(4-5 Months)

Pay Scale: $26-30/hr | Industry: Manufacturing

POSITION OVERVIEW

BestLogic Staffing is recruiting a Quality Inspection Technician for an aerospace and defense small-parts distribution operation in Enfield, Connecticut. This role supports receiving and shipping quality activities by inspecting aero-engine hardware, verifying quality documentation, and accurately entering technical quality records into internal and customer systems. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working in a procedure-driven, regulated environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Inspect incoming aero-engine hardware and completed shipping orders using visual inspection and applicable gaging methods.
  • Measure components using hand gages, optical comparators, and advanced thread gages, including Johnson gages.
  • Review blueprints, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), specifications, and quality requirements to determine inspection criteria.
  • Verify certificates of conformance and other technical records for availability, accuracy, and completeness.
  • Enter, retrieve, and maintain technical quality data in internal databases, customer systems, forms, and data-submittal portals.
  • Support First Article Inspection Report (FAIR) packages by completing FAI inspections and verifying supporting quality records in accordance with AS9102.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate degree in a technical discipline preferred, plus at least 3 years of relevant inspection or quality experience; or at least 5 years of relevant experience without a technical degree.
  • Working knowledge of blueprint interpretation, quality requirements, and GD&T as they relate to inspection and gaging.
  • Hands-on experience performing manual inspection with hand gages, optical comparators, thread gages, visual inspection methods, and photographic documentation.
  • Ability to obtain, review, understand, verify, and compile technical records and quality documents, including certificates of conformance.
  • Experience supporting AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports.
  • Daily working proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated accuracy and focus while completing recurring and detail-intensive tasks.
  • Ability to work effectively in a procedure-based, regulatory-controlled environment.
  • U.S. Person status is required due to the nature of the work.
PREFERRED CREDENTIALS AND ATTRIBUTES
  • Relevant technical certifications such as DQR, CQT, or CQE.
  • Customer-focused service mindset with strong integrity and professional ethics.
  • Self-motivated, disciplined, organized, and able to work independently as well as within a global team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and professional customer interaction.
SCHEDULE AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • On-site role in Enfield, Connecticut. Reliable personal transportation is required to meet scheduled working hours.
  • Operations run Monday through Saturday between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. The initial schedule is expected to total 48 hours per week within that window and may change based on business demand.
  • Hourly employees are paid 1.5 times their regular rate for hours worked over 40 in a week.
  • Distribution and shop-floor environment involving desk work, walking, standing, and occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds.
  • Safety shoes are required. Travel is minimal to none.
