Job summary

Leidos Defense Sector / Manufacturing seeks a quality inspector to ensure components meet strict specifications across drawings and technical data packages. You will inspect incoming parts, document non-conformances, and support 5S and continuous improvement initiatives at the Huntsville area facility.

The role requires a TS/SCI clearance, 2+ years of JAVA experience, experience reading drawings, and the ability to lift up to 35 lbs. US citizenship is required to obtain clearance.

Qualifications

• Must have TS/SCI clearance and 2+ years of JAVA experience.
• High School diploma or GED with 3-5 years of relevant Quality Inspection experience.
• Experience leading operations or teams in completing tasks.
• Ability to solve complex problems, relate with other team members, and communicate with other levels of management.
• Must have knowledge and understanding when reading and interpreting drawings.
• Must have knowledge of measurement tools (micrometers, height gauges, gage blocks, radius gauges, calipers).
• Experience in an ISO9001/AS9100 manufacturing environment.
• Ability to populate handwritten or computer-generated inspection reports.
• Computer skills: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word.
• Willing to travel to customer sites for inspections.
• Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
• Resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
• US Citizen; able to obtain Secret Clearance.

Basic Qualifications

• Candidate must possess a High School diploma/GED with 3-5 years of relevant Quality Inspection experience.
• Must have experience in leading operations or teams in completing tasks.
• Must be able to solve complex problems, relate with other team members, and communicate with other levels of management.
• Must have knowledge and understanding when reading and interpreting drawings.
• Must have knowledge of how to efficiently use micrometers, height gages, gage blocks, radius gages, and calipers etc.
• Experience in an ISO9001/AS9100 manufacturing environment.
• Candidate must be able to populate handwritten or computer-generated inspection reports.
• Candidates must have Computer Skills and can use computer software such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, etc.
• Applicants must be able to work full-time with minimal supervision and adjust priorities based on workflow.
• Must be willing to travel to customer sites to perform quality inspections.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs.
• Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
• Candidate must be a US Citizen. possess, or be able to obtain (and be able to maintain) a Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with drawing interpretation both Electrical and Mechanical.
• Knowledge of FAR and DFAR regulations.
• IPC 610/620 certified.
• J-STD certified.

Pay Range

Pay Range $50,700.00 - $91,650.00
